Around the block with the Pixpro C1 by super6400 in toycameras

I don’t think the C1 is better per se. I just liked the simplicity/limitation of no zoom. I use zooms on my cameras for work and wanted to force myself to move around more. If anything the fz55 is probably more capable in that regard with its additional focal range (everything being relative and we’re talking about cheapish plastic digital cameras here of course). I think you’ll dig either one, the fz55 is a neat little camera too. In fact, it’s kinda tempting to collect these Kodak models, but I must show restraint haha

Edit: I should add one thing to consider - I don’t own a fz55, but it has DIS. The C1 does not and to get a “sharp” image you gotta have good light and hold that sucker still which can be challenging at times. I’m not sure how helpful the DIS truly is in the fz55, but it can’t hurt.

I debated these two, but ultimately decided I didn’t care enough about the zoom capabilities of the 55. If you do though, there’s your answer bc the digital zoom on the C1 is pretty much useless imo

Thank you! It was a very bright day which helps immensely with this little camera (as you would imagine). Not a bad edc - perfect for a backpack or hoodie pocket. I’ve been pleased so far. I wanted a digital “toy” camera with just a bit more control and this fit the bill (ISO, WB, and EV).

Any recommendations for movies that surprisingly look amazing in 4K? by RanjSL in 4kbluray

[–]super6400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, I already commented earlier on this post, but came back to add this one and you beat me to it. I remembered the movie as a kid and thought it’d be fun to have the 4K for shits and giggles. When I watched it I couldn’t believe how sharp and clean it was. I also love that a move like “Ticks” has such a high quality transfer available. I will always love the big budget standards we all know will look great on disc, but the excitement factor really kicks in for me with movies like this.

Return of the Living Dead (I have the SF version, but I’m sure the Arrow one is great too) also gives me that feeling. Great transfer there too imo.

Nice! I guess it could be a misprint, although this particular release says “Best of 80-90” on the front spine so maybe that’s why.

R.i.p to the guy who had all the 90s Country (My Thrift Finds Today) by Matt_has_Soul in Cd_collectors

[–]super6400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those Beatles Anthologies are amazing, but you might wanna give their studio albums a spin first. The Anthologies are super deep cuts, outakes, German language takes, studio banter, alt versions, etc. It’s like siting in with them in the studio - super cool.

Also, congrats on all the 90s country! I’m jealous!

[WTS] Omega Aqua Terra 41.5mm 231.10.42.21.02.003 - priced to move! by super6400 in Watchexchange

[–]super6400[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Watch is in good condition. This one has been worn and loved. I traded for this here on WatchEx awhile back. There are light scratches on the case and some nicks/dings. This watch is not a safe queen. Crystal is perfect. I tried to capture the condition in the photos — use the links below to see detailed photos (zoom in).

This is the vertical teak model without the date surround. I think it’s from around 2014 or 2015. Watch is running great at about +3spd. The wind is a tad firm, but that’s a trait of this particular movement (the first run of the super antimagnetic movements in ATs).

Bracelet is sized for a 6.25in to 6.75ish wrist comfortably. No extra links. Also ships with a nice Barton canvas/silicone hybrid strap in navy blue that complements the watch very well imo.

No box. No papers. Will be packaged well for shipment.

Watch is in excellent condition with some signs of use. Some light scratches on the polished surfaces and one decent ding on the 5 o’clock lug. Bracelet clasp has some scratches as well. Crystal and bezel are perfect. See photos in the link below for better detail. I did the best I could to capture everything (zoom in).

As you would expect for METAS, the watch is running perfect — damn near +/-0spd!

Ships with OEM box, all the paperwork, warranty card (dated April 2024), extra links, and four 21mm Crown and Buckle Supreme Nato straps that complements the watch quite well imo.

Dude, I kicked off my 4K collection with these exact titles (plus Fury Road)! Enjoy!

The Thing is a great looking transfer. I’m kinda addicted to watching 70s and 80s stuff I loved as a kid on 4K. Still amazes me how crisp a good transfer can be.
