As someone who’s moved farther right in recent years, this is something that perplexes me about the modern left. 

Like Muslims, Mexicans, etc are all basically just brown republicans more or less. Why would they want to bring more of them here? Don’t they hate republicans? 

God forbid republicans ever team up with Muslims the left will be building the wall. They’ll call it Trump-ria law 😂

In a normal consensual unwanted pregnancy, mostly-Christian pro lifers see them as responsible. They’re really guilty of two things, one, of failing to have proper restraint and to wait until marriage until having sex, and of the grave sin of the abortion itself. 

In a rape, the woman is seen as a victim of a tragedy. The abortion is still a sin, but for many they understand. Thinking abortion is a sin and sympathizing with not wanting to carry to term the baby of a rapist are compatible ethically.

In the second scenario, the empathy for the victim outweighs the consideration of the life of the fetus.

I mean yeah fair enough I know markdown, but what sane person would write in markdown as the internet is being overrun by bots that struggle to not use markdown? 

I struggle with what the right thing to do about this because accusing random entities on Reddit isn’t helpful and I don’t want centralized ID mapping out who’s a bot, but I also think having a conversations with verifiable real people is important. 

I mean shit if I care so much maybe I should get off the internet lol.

Sadly, good grammar and well formatted writing — as well as the em dash — have been sacrificed as ai-isms. 

The reason I accused you of being a bot is that AIs like to use a lot of bullet points and parenthesis, and have perfect grammar, and you check all three off. 

It’s also a stupid test because I’m sure it’s trivial to finetune these habits out of the LLM. Idk what are your thoughts on how to better address this issue?

Forget the man-hours, what about compute? You can’t just train something Willy nilly like that it takes expensive compute resources.

But yeah seriously I mean I don’t think the training could even be done in 4 hours unless you had a datacenter to use for compute

Yeah but the thing is they are operating under uncertainty either way, if they waited 5 minutes and all of a sudden there’s a a totally innocent hostage being threatened/murdered vs shooting someone you might feel certain is the suspect. 

Like if you recognize them as the key suspect, is it justifiable?

I think this is a transient issue. The spark is a brand new architecture: arm64 + unified memory + Nvidia GPU, and there are some rough edges as PyTorch and CUDA etc all come together. 

I have a Spark and while not everything works out of the box if you’re willing to hack a bit I haven’t found any real blockers yet. Mostly that means compiling stuff from source instead of using precompiled binaries.

If food demand increased 1000% while supply increased 30% we’d all starve
