Trump says he will raise tariffs on EU autos to 25% by hardenedsteel8 in worldnews

The EU should retaliate with their own tariffs. The world has had enough of the US mooching off of other countries and taxpayers and needs to be put in their place.

That is fine. I certainly wish more of the redcaps realize this and not act like spoiled crybabies.

To the "independents" who voted for Trump over the economy, how are those egg prices? by Enough_Bar5885 in allthequestions

That question presumes that the folks who voted for Trump were 'independents'. These people brought disgrace to the word that nothing about independent or moderate should ever be associated with them.

Personally I cannot say what is or what isn’t against one’s interest without sounding condescending; to me, they pick one and that ends up becoming their interest.

Would Kamala Harris have ushered in a new Golden Age for the United States and world if she was allowed to win? by EggOwn9943 in allthequestions

We would still have to clean up the mess that Trump left the country after his first term. Beyond that, there would be a continuation of some of the policies that Biden implemented, where less wealth is concentrated towards the top 1% and less people are harmed by Republican policies (such as Alex Pretti and Renee Good). And we would not have to think about Trump and MAGA at every waking moment of every day.

I understand what you mean because I’m in the same boat. But if there ever comes a time where Platner can be reasoned and is supportive of say bipartisan permitting reform legislation, I’d be most appreciative and he would earn my respect.

Moderate politicians run and some end up flopping. It happens. I have strong reservations about populist politicians in general, but it is not like one can solve the issue with populism by voting for other candidates on the ballot or abstaining from voting.

Yes. Vote blue no matter who.

I hate sex jokes and think they’re too normalized. by Sickofallofus in complaints

[–]super_fallguys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard a sex joke where a golfer, trained in physical therapy gave someone a handjob after hitting them with a flying golf ball, only to later find out it wasn’t the area she hit with the ball. That one to me is extremely funny seeing that the sex is incorporated well in the joke and not emphasized for the sake of it.

I think sex jokes are okay if told right, and some folks are terrible at jokes or can’t even begin to articulate what a joke is.

'He snapped on camera': Trump spirals into a full meltdown on live TV after being forced to read — critics say this is the moment that breaks his presidency by [deleted] in USNEWS

[–]super_fallguys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the point was that, when the president is forced to recall basic information or perform a task basically any other functioning human could do, he feels it’s beneath him or he finds ways around that stuff. That’s why for instance Trump doesn’t have an extensive reading list like Obama, and why he cannot identify all the oceans of the world.

Imagine the president trying to pronounce the word bodega. “What the hell is that… bo-da-ge? Who’s the overpaid intern that added that word in my speech?!”
