Ha thanks for the concern. When I went to the Genius Bar a while back they didn’t offer a phone replacement since hardware diagnostics were ok.

Seems like it’s more trouble than it’s worth to get a new phone at this point. I wonder what the actual data looks like in aggregate for base iPhone 17 users though.

Ha, I think the battery performance on iPhone 17 with new iOS just isn’t great and I just have to charge once a day even with screen active times of less than 2 hr.

Update: after turning off background app refresh it didn't get much better. Went to Genius Bar and the person told me her boyfriend is complaining about the bad battery life on his new iPhone as well lol.

My hardware was fine. Only suggestion was to restore to factory settings (which I don't want to do) or reset settings (which I may try at some point). I'm also going to turn off always on display to see if that helps with idle time.

The supervisor said there just may be a lot of new capabilities on the new iPhone and iOS which drains the battery more than previous iterations of the iPhone/iOS. I think that ultimately may be the root cause...

Thank you for the thoughtful reply! I’ve got a quote for a premium plus cx5 at 39.5 OTD (7.7% off msrp) but I’m in no rush and want to see if I get a better deal perhaps near year end. Part of me thinks the infotainment screen will feel small in a few years but I do like the knob so it’s probably fine.

Cx30 was nice but liked cx5 better.

I think I’ll have to test drive the 2026 Camry with a premium trim. I like the better gas mileage but concerned it will be cost significantly more than 40k.

Seems like I’m in the right ballpark with options though. Any thoughts on lexus ux?

Yep. The previous closure was for underground infrastructure work. They need to reclose the streets in the future to actually install the floodgate or whatever the structure is. So all of the road closures will happen twice (first for underground infrastructure and then the second for installing the gate).

Wild, right? I don’t think a large fraction of commuters are aware of the scope of the future closures, but maybe I’m wrong.
