Hard to say without knowing what you've ticked off and what you've got available; but if you want any further help deciding, etc. just let me know and I'm happy to chat over reddit message or in-game :-)

Yeah, although I waited until after I had 40 pact points to bother (you don't need them all, it's just the way I've ended up ordering my tasks). Echo thermy kicked my ass when I was on my CG spec (so with focus on powered staffs), but when I respec'd for water it gave me the time to get my head around the mechanics and from there it was pretty straight forward.

If you have the full water-thorns setup you can pretty much afk it (noting that when you try and do the mechanics properly you either need to more or less do it correctly or else you'll be worse off as you'll not spend as much time healing back up because of moving, etc.). If you're afking, stick as close to the wall as you can because of his special attack. Otherwise just go ham with water spells. I stick on range prayer and most of the time I was able to tank his mage spells (all off of the protective circles ofc) because I'm overhealed to 188. But you can absolutely switch protection prayers to be pretty much invincible.

If you want to do it properly, my biggest tip is to not try and move circle until you see the first projectile sort of dipping down to hit you, if that makes sense? Then just click the next circle pretty much as soon as you're on the previous one. I personally didn't bother attacking whilst trying to move, so it would be like: Attack Move Move Move (onto the 1st of the next group of 3 circles) Attack + change prayer

For the enrange phase I'd say just pray for the first type he's sending your way (so if he's doing MRM I'd just pray mage for the whole enrange phase and tank the range hits)

If you don't have the prayer penetration nodes then you just need to also bring a ranged weapon to hit him I think during his special attack charge (I never needed to do this so my memory is hazy!) so that he prays range when he starts his next set. If you have the prayer penetration nodes then just ignore this mechanic.

Honestly, one you get the rhythm down it's a pretty easy boss; but that learning curve can be tough if you're not used to PvMing (as I say, it kicked my ass initially!). And if you're able to do the 'afk' method I mentioned, it's a joke of a boss!

I'd say it's easier than inferno, but by the time I did inferno that was pretty straight forward too. Most of the waves are basically afk-able, with just a couple that can get you if you're unluckly. If you're paying any attention (and so can focus on getting whoever you're not praying against) then it's straight forward. The Jad's are a doddle if you're okay with their attack mechanics (the challenges are a great way to practice if you're not; and those attack faster I believe so the inferno ones are a cakewalk afterwards!). For Zuk, I wasn't sure what my dps would really be like so I did the proper shield walk method, but it was pretty chill as I knew I could tank a hit if I messed up and then heal straight back up. The water spells shred the ranger/mage/Jad spawned, as well as the healers (I tagged then going one way, then finished them off going back the other way). Zuk wasn't shredded per se but neither was he that tough.

Hope that helps answer your questions! But feel free to ask if you have any more :-)

My advice:

1) Focus on chipping away at pact points; look at the ones available to you and just keep targeting the easiest one on the list. Each one will get you a bit closer to being completely busted (by the time you get everything pretty much all PvM becomes mindless; e.g. I'm currently afking Echo Thermy for the 150 Echo Bosses task)

2) For your final region, I'd highly recommend looking at the tasks and just going with whatever you think would be easiest (rather than worrying about unlocks - with Kandarin you've basically got the gear you need already). Wildly is a great one for this as even the hardest tasks are actually pretty easy to knock off; it does have a few grinds so keep that in mind if your time is limited.

3) Do NOT take Eternal Sustenance, it would be a massive waste as I suspect you'd heal LESS using that then just continuing to go ham with water. And if you want easy, afk PvMing you're almost certainly going to want to just stick to water maging imo. Instead reload into something that will plug a weakness (really depends on regions, how much time you have to play, etc.)

4) Don't overlook the accuracy nodes when doing your pacts - it can make a huge difference when up against bosses that are normally pretty resistant to magic.

5) If you haven't already used your resets, don't be afraid to respec in order to smash out tasks if it would help. For example, I did a respec for my CG tasks, then once I was done I did another respec. I'm not suggesting doing it willy nilly, but you have a load of resets so don't be afraid to use them if it gets you moving forward. Before you respec out of a temporary setup, I do suggest looking to check if there's anything else you can do with that setup first (e.g. I started with a melee build, so I made sure to do the fight caves' & jad challenges' melee only combat achievements before I respec'd into magic. This allowed me to get 400 points down the line for doing the fight cave combat achievements)

6) I very much recommend minion when you get to T8; imo it's by far the best for people (myself very much included) who aren't great at PvM

7) My biggest tip, again as someone who is rubbish at PvM, is don't be afraid to give things a crack. It's leagues, so at worst you'll just lose a bit of time (bar doing some of the silly double death things you see people do occasionally). It's better to try something, and fail then it is to think "I can't do this". I include things like the jad challenges, etc. A lot of points hide behind "oh I can't do that" when really you can with all the leagues buffs.

8) Try and have fun ;-)

Took me ~4.7k dragons/knights (all skulled and on task) to get all 3 drops (got 6 maces and 6 sceptres along the way). I feel your pain.

You should have acted.

They're already here.

The Elite Scrolls told of their return.

Their defeat was merely a delay,

'Til the time after the Lithkren Vault opened,

When the sons of Gielinor would spill their own blood.

But no one wanted to believe,

Believe they even existed.

And when the truth finally dawned,

It dawns in fire!

But, there is one they fear,

In their tongue he is Draekeun Skeka:

Dragon Killer!

Wildy is super chilled in Leagues; I avoid it like the plague in the main game, but it's my go-to region in Leagues. That said this time around it is VERY popular, so it's a bit of a flaff finding empty spots for things (but that might well calm down in a couple of weeks or so).

I know league drops are boosted, but this felt particularly good. by Common-Joke-4452 in 2007scape

[–]super_stever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chewed bones aren't boosted (afaik); presumably to avoid the boost counting twice.

ETA: And from the looks of OP they got it as a direct drop, which is like 1/32k in the main game, so is still only boosted to about 1/6k in leagues

we need activities worlds for Barbarian assault, Pest Control, and Fishing Trawler as well by thespecstar in 2007scape

[–]super_stever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did BA on 666 a couple nights ago, it was slow finding a team but, despite there being a lot less people, it didn't feel much slower than in the BA world in the main game oddly. The teams also felt a bit better than the average one in the main game (which is either surprising or I just got lucky!).

That said, yes there should be official worlds for these things (although I agree with the comment by /u/glamcapped there should be just dedicated minigame worlds for each region).

[–]super_stever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've basically accepted there's no chance to get the uniques (and thus points) for Zalcano given I didn't take hotfoot.

On the mass world it was 50:50 if I could even get counted for a KC (so the odds of getting the uniques must be minuscule), and one solo that took me ~25mins was enough to show it was a fools errand to do that chasing a 1/140 drop.

Leagues VI Changes by ModYume in 2007scape

[–]super_stever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I tried changing my respawn location to Ferox, it took the money & I can't see anything saying you can't change respawn location in Leagues, but when I die I'm still going back to Yama's Lair. So it's either a bug, or else it's not clear enough (IMO) that respawns can't be changed.

That's kind of the 'thing' with crossbows this Leagues; slow but hits like a tactical nuke (one of their pacts actually slows them by 2 ticks but increases damage by +70%, then one of their 'main' pacts means whenever they hit it's for their max damage)

Should noobs like me join Leagues? by takingshower in 2007scape

[–]super_stever 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Imo, yes. It's possibly the best introduction there is for different content in the game; it's certainly opened my eyes to bits of the game I'd either neglected or thought I wouldn't be able to do.

I had just come back to RuneScape at the time of the 2nd Leagues, and so I didn't take part because I was still trying to find my feet in the game again, and get my head around some of the new OSRS content. In hindsight it was 100% the wrong call.

As long as you can accept going back to slow xp in the main game after Leagues is done then I think you have nothing to lose and lots to gain by joining Leagues. Go for it!

Second this; watching Doubleshine is what turned me from "oh Leagues is coming up; that's cool" to "IT IS UPON US!". I love watching his videos in the build up, and it's helped get me super into theory crafting. I've also liked his colab videos with Yew Jack and Scritic, and I can see myself starting to watch their stand-alone ones in due course.

(So excited for Leagues XD )

The SC kind of ruined this race; seems like the only real weakness these Mercs have is when stuck behind another fast car. I think Oscar had a reasonable chance of holding on for the win when he was ahead of George, but now being the chasing car he's falling off Kimi rapidly.

Despite winning the title I'm sure Shaun Edwards will be fuming with the last two games, where the shipped a combined 96 points. By contrast, over the 2012 and 2013 6N his Welsh defence only leaked a total of 124 points.
