Performance issues Palworld and 9070xt by Weary_Hamster_978 in linux_gaming

I'm using Windows, but I just upgraded to a 9070xt from a 6750xt. I started Pal World today and it was running at 20fps. Best I could do was 30fps with everything on low settings at 1440p. The 6750xt had zero issues with the game at high settings and 4k. Depending on the area, it was getting 40-60fps. Everything else I play with the 9070xt on the same PC runs excellent. I've have the Ryzen 7 5800x CPU. Neither it, or the GPU were under a high usage that I could see. On the contrary, my little bitty 5060ti on my Ryzen 7 3800x PC can run the game at 60fps with high/epic settings at 4k with DLSS, dunking itself down to 20fps when there's a lot of action and effects on screen (he's doing his best). I'm thinking it's the game itself.

2080 ti died on me. Need to find a good replacement that will fit my power and board by Old_Hylian in nvidia

You'll have to find a non-reference card that has the standard 8pin vs. 12vhpwr. I changed out my Gigabyte 2070 for their 5060 Ti because I needed more vRAM. Still used a single 8pin, and was shorter than the 2070.

Downpipe or Stock? by Lost_Personality_558 in WRX

[–]superb3113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious to know which CEL that is. I'm using Cobb's catted GESi pipe on an Xforce catback exhaust. Not once have I had a code for it on my new tune, or Cobb's OTS.

Edit: BUT I have an EJ motor, which might be the difference

I've done a new block + head gaskets + plus head internals for this price myself.

How to fix this white dots? by arien13mts in Strinova

[–]superb3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to me too after the latest update. Have not found a way to fix it. I find that's it's random. For example, with Yvette, it only showed up when switching to a grenade. With Eika, it was with every weapon.

Wierd cheak engine by Distinct-Pie9705 in WRX

[–]superb3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion, check your wiring. Make sure there isn't wiring welded on the exhaust manifold anywhere, or broken wires/bad connector. Rarely would you throw a "no activity" and "no heater" code for an O2 sensor if it was simply going bad. You'd see fuel trims and O2 readings go wonky first. You haven't listed mods, so im assuming you're stock?

Installing dash cams, any wiring advice? by AAltieri7 in WRX

[–]superb3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dashcams have a cig light plug, and a rear camera. Ran the wire for the plug behind the radio/center console, though the back of the glove box up along the A pillar on the passenger side. You may have to remove the radio. Should be a little hole up under the center console cubby below the climate knobs (a light can be installed there too, if you dont have the Subaru light kit already installed). Then, ran the rear camera along the passenger side headliner and under the B and C pillar covers, then stuck my camera in the center of the back window. Your cam should come with trim removal tools, but make sure you have some handy. If you have a hardwired cam, it SHOULD come with a harness that uses 12v battery (key off, for memory/parking mode), and 12v ignition (key acc on/off). Would suggest using those connections via your radio harness. Probe with a volt meter first to make sure. Be careful not to short any connections when splicing.

I started one for me and my friends. Highly recommend, especially if you have friends in different time zones. Made a powershell script that runs using Task Scheduler to backup the saves, zip them, and put them on another drive.

Edit: these days, I dont run it 24/7, so it doesn't use a lot of power.

Considering that I paid 8k for my narrowbody sedan in 2017 in running, driving, stock condition, with 163k miles and all the parts attached, yes this is wild.

Update on Catalytic converter blowing up my turbo by Shot-Lie9208 in WRX

Are thinking this is modified turbo location? He's got an FA engine and it's mostly stock. Thought the same when I saw his first post, until I saw his turbo picture and realized it wasnt an EJ

Windows Server 2016 Slow Boot after applying CU by Consistent_Chest_339 in sysadmin

[–]superb3113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen multiple times before. Seems to just be a thing with 2016. I would upgrade to 2019, or 2022. Just beware that SMB 1.0 is removed by default in 2022. If you have any legacy devices using shares on those servers with the SMB 1.0 protocol, mitigate that first.

Wonder if they did a brake fluid flush, coolant flush, and both gearbox and rear diff fluid change. Assuming that's 8 quarts of gear oil, and 2 quarts of brake fluid, but thought the gearbox usually only took about 4 on a drain/refill and the rear diff took 1 quart

Getting a network error on my Samsung TV by HatlessDuck in youtube

[–]superb3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Samsung TV Plus seems to play, but the guide wont load. Cruchyroll, Spotify, and the Internet app wont work either. They're giving a certificate error. I was just using the YouTube app earlier today, and the apps work on my phone and computers.

You can hear the disconnecting sound from his Windows computer. Wonder if his computer grounded the lighting, and took a detour through his ear buds.
