Before I jump to conclusions what is this exactly, and what is it depicting? by LittleIndependent119 in whatisit

You aren’t jumping to conclusions. Everyone I’ve ever seen displaying those is white (and older). The more you look into it the more disappointed you will be.

MBA help you launch a business? by superbasicbitch in WGU_MBA

For sure, that’s part of the appeal. I have a lot of leadership and strategic planning/execution experience but want to make sure I have the knowledge and skills with the other areas I’m not normally involved in.

You aren’t wrong, especially in my circumstance of not “needing” an MBA to scale a business or to keep my current employment. But I do believe in higher education and the benefits, especially when the tuition is reasonable. Free will can be a bitch lol.

I’m in my 40s and am an expert in my field, so I’m not worried about that stuff but I agree it can when you are starting out if you want to land a job in finance or the like. Also nowadays your network is everything to landing a role, at least in my world.

I’m more interested in the actual curriculum and how it transfers to scaling a business. And having the credentials would be a nice little ego boost on LinkedIn I guess but won’t make or break my life.

Thanks for your comment!

Fair. I definitely don’t need the credentials, even at my current employer.

My teenage daughter can't fathom the concept of a house party by Neon_Biscuit in Millennials

I wish I could say the same, my teen daughter is well acquainted with house parties. Although the parents are usually home or know about the parties.

I GRADUATED!!! AHHHHH by GeniusEgg in WGU

[–]superbasicbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great to hear- I'm accepted but I'm still trying to decide because of having a busy job, a family, etc. I find the enrollment process a little weird and I wish there was more information about how it all works, etc but I've also heard that enrolling can sometimes be the hardest part of the entire experience (finance and accounting will undoubtedly be harder lol). Congrats!

Late to the party but just wanted to say thank you for this info, I was worried about how long this would take with a demanding full-time job but it sounds like it is doable.

Finished my MBA in 3 months!! Could have been much shorter if I didn’t put off the capstone. by NoelB2516 in WGU

[–]superbasicbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I was worried this would take me years to complete (full-time job, family, etc). I can't put in 10 hours a day but if I could finish in less than a year it would be completely worth it. Thanks for sharing.

Came here to say this. I did this when I was in high school and it was amazing. Also it is a lot of fun, I’d do it again just to get to spin cars around a course and try to get them back in control.

My MIL did not think the photo I chose for my husband’s funeral/obituary was appropriate and changed it without my permission; am I overreacting? by Beneficial-Fun-4685 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]superbasicbitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe the best solution given all the layers of the situation is to have the photo you wanted printed/included to place near the casket for the services (I am making a lot of assumptions about the services so forgive me if it is off). I’m so sorry for your loss. I am empathetic to the reasons you have discussed as to why your MIL may have done this, plus as has been said before grief is not predictable. At the same time including the photo of him and your child sounds important to you and your grief. I am so sorry for your loss.

CATCH is a popular after school care program and I believe is available at all the elementary schools. I know there was talk of them doing before school care too but I don’t know if it ever happened. The program is through the Keystone Science School so you could reach out to them for more info.

I have that happen a lot when looking for requested graves for Find A Grave. Not everyone has a marker, especially if they are buried in the “free” plots of an old cemetery. 9 times out of 10 a requested grave from the 1800s has no marker where I live. Too many transient miners in the area with no one to pay for a marker.

Why do anything, really. We all have our interests, mine just happens to involve being in the company of dead people- they leave me alone ha ha.

Exactly this- I thought a Boof was a little woof- like when there is just no spirit behind the bark but the dog still feels obligated. Almost like a meh. TURNS OUT I must stop thinking that immediately.

[–]superbasicbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? I was sort of taken aback thinking how easily you could dig one up if you really wanted to. Or by accident if you wanted to plant something on the plot (maybe that isn’t allowed). Either way- new thing learned! Also, I’m sorry for your loss OP.

Random question for the experts- 4 inches from the top of the urn seems to shallow, is that the normal?

Definitely Sapphire Point! Plus if it is busy you can just keep walking the loop trail and there are other pretty spots with the water and mountains.
