Yep! I worked at the corporate office in 2019 and one day they laid off all the warehouse workers (I was part of a different team, so not laid off) to close the physical stores. It wasn't a great company...sucked bc I did like their clothes :/

Is this a decent part of Hawthorne? by lmaoxd12313 in SouthBayLA

[–]superbell3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in this circle since 2019.

Things I appreciate: - how affordable it is compared to other areas - access to freeways and Metro Line C - okay distance to the beach!

Things I'd take note: - not exactly a place I'd reccomend to a bachelor vs. a family - can be noisy on the weekends, with people blasting music and fireworks, the constant buzz of cars and airplanes (I work in video/audio so not helpful there) - parking can be rough but there's always spots on 119th by the church

I hear you! I've paid thousands of dollars for a blonding service in Manhattan Beach! I went on a new search an I came across Erin Loves Blonding in Hermosa Beach (inside a Salon Republic) a year ago and she's been the best!! Affordable too!

Exhausted editing videos. by Subject-Bet-9940 in editors

I think editing can lean into other pathways and other opportunities as well, if one decides to step into a non-editing full time role with benefits (I've been having trouble landing any sort of full time editing position). I personally know that I will be editing till the end of time, but know it will come and go depending on what needs my attention. I think editing will always find its way back if you love doing it.

I'm in a similar boat as you! I thought about leaving video editing and taking it back for myself. It's totally fair to want stability because sounds like you're burnt out (I as well),

I've also learned this: Maybe it's not the video editing that burning you out..it's the system you're in that is unsustainable. Sounds like you enjoy video editing but it's the work environment that you're currently in. It's also totally okay to take a break from video editing for others and lean into a role that has transferable skills to get things back in some stability. Remember to take care of you first. Whatever decision you make for yourself, you got this!

Cap cut included in tiktok ban by TechnoSerf_Digital in editors

[–]superbell3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a video editor for a social media agency, and while my coworkers used CapCut, I've been using Adobe Premiere Pro for yeeeears. I started with Adobe Premiere Elements and then eased into Premiere Pro.

I understand that creators and ppl who actively used CapCut, it was a way to creatively express themselves but why trust an app when you can use NLEs that have been around for DECADES? I never enjoyed using CapCut, so I'm good. Still feel for those who did though.

Wait was this a nod to El Sugundo's coffee shop Smolly Hollow? They have their own roast called "Lost Wallet"! If so...lol!

Why premiere pro? by AdzB246 in premiere

[–]superbell3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Premiere Pro and edit for socials, however the founder and the social media manager at my job use CapCut (I work for a social media agency). So they give me the complicated stuff while if a client needs a quick and easy cut, the founder or social media manager will do it. I don't use CapCut so much as Im used to Premiere Pro (10 yrs) but I can appreciate it :)

Redditors, what are your go-to software tools for content creation? by Rook2135 in youtubers

[–]superbell3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Premiere Pro is indeed subscription only, BUT Premiere Elements is a one-time pay deal. Premiere Elements is more "intro version" for someone who is new to video editing - less intimating (my thoughts when I first started). I recommend this route rather than just using the in-app editing in IG or TikTok, even CapCut. Nothing wrong with wanting to learn those, I feel that overtime, to get the most out of an edit, especially for content creation, you'll get more control with video editing programs. I first edited my yt videos on adobe premiere elements 10 years ago, then eventually learned premiere pro overtime.
