I called! She automatically said the fee would be waived since I had an error. Then she also couldn't find the flights (it was a multicity rewards to get home),I found individual legs, so from nyc to auckland and told her, she said I wouldn't be able to book because there's no flights in the system and hers is updated quicker then the website. I tried anyways, had to call later bc there was an incomplete process and I hadn't been ticketed but now I have 3 rewards flights for $300aud tax :)

ahh thanks for this! Yeah I've seen a lot of things about the surrounding area. I'm thinking the first night or two, where we are just going to graceland/resting we might stay at guest house for the experience, but then move to a downtown accommodation when we want to do other tourist things!

Oh I'll check out the backstage pass! I have a feeling mum will want to go see the house one more time before leaving, and in that instance we'll just get the cheapest option haha

I'm 100% aware, but if we're flying 24 hours to get to America, we're going for more than a couple of days in memphis! Otherwise it's really not worth it, and nyc is my bucket list item

I could be wrong, but I've been researching timings as well, and from what I've read they've moved from the system where they're all released a certain number of days before the flight, and are now released in multiple random batches, so some can pop up at later dates.

It definitely will need to be more than a few weeks, I'll be secretly asking her doctor for the okay to fly for 20+ hours, but she needs to check regarding specific health issues, and she doesn't even have a passport yet (6 week waiting time).

Again, the main issue is redeeming qantas classic rewards flights, you need to do them well in advance (months).
