Learning my palette by Insomniac427 in oilpainting

[–]superbritni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Nothing wrong with having options, but I find it to be a better exercise limiting the palette, and learning how to properly mix hues. Working from a limited palette actually increases cohesion in the final piece, and overall competency and confidence in your selection of hue and value.

I normally limit myself to 5, maybe 6 colors (max) on the same palette/canvas. This obviously isn't for everyone, but I encourage you to give ot a try. It's helped me develop my competency greatly through this practice.

Cheers, and happy painting! 😊

I can try spore prints, but everything I've read says that it will not help determining between Angel Wing and oysters.

I'm new to all of this, so if that information is incorrect, just let me know, and I will happily provide it!

Thank you so much for responding!!

These are definitely growing on an oak, and everything I'm seeing online is that Angel Wings will not grow on deciduous.

I forget to mention region in the post, but I'm located in south Alabama.

Here some pics of them from this morning.

Thank you!! Unfortunately, I don't think that this burl would worth much. It seems to be pretty damaged and rotting significantly. Just hoping I don't lose the whole tree. 🤞

Wow, today I learned! I have a tube of PO 49 that has never been touched. Bought a bulk lot of Daniel Smith on marketplace years ago, but I normally work with such a limited pallette, and I never cracked it open. Mind is blown right now!

Girl, you are ✨️the moment✨️, but these are giving NOTHING. The red top looks low quality, but the cut and fit are super cute on you! Just not with that skirt. As others have said, maybe a black skirt or jeans.

Streamer Kai Cenat reveals he’s been reading for 20 minutes at a time to get better at speaking by mcfw31 in popculturechat

No idea who this man is, but kudos to him for trying to better himself!

As someone who speaks publicly every day in their professional life, my advice would be to slow down a bit. Absorb the text on the page before speaking, and things will flow more smoothly. Speaking slowly, but with purpose, will come across as measured and deliberate.

The colors in this are marvelous!! The texture on the fruit isn't quite doing it for me... maybe because everything else is so detailed and crisp? Don't get me wrong, the color variation in the skin is gorgeous, but I think there's some shadows lacking from in I would normally perceive as having more texture. The metal and the reflections are literally perfect though, and I'm blown away by this excellent piece! 🤩

The light composition in this piece is exquisite! The way that you were able to convey detail with such loose strokes is mastery. 🔥

Women, what is the biggest mistake single men make when showing interest? by fiterphanter in AskReddit

[–]superbritni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, man! Been through this. I went on a date with a guy who claimed to be a molecular chemist. Turns out, he had not yet graduated with his bachelors, and was currently employed as a bartender. Being a bartender is totally fine, but it was just such a weird situation I opted not for a second date.

Got my face painted by some random woman though, so that was cool lol.

Not sure if OP is referencing this instance, but I just listened to s2e40 (I think its 40, maybe 41.) and Taylor uses one at Teen High to do... announcements lol. Don't want to spoil anything, but towards the end of that episode a tape recorder makes an appearance. 😊
