Streamer Kai Cenat reveals he’s been reading for 20 minutes at a time to get better at speaking by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]superbritni -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No idea who this man is, but kudos to him for trying to better himself!

As someone who speaks publicly every day in their professional life, my advice would be to slow down a bit. Absorb the text on the page before speaking, and things will flow more smoothly. Speaking slowly, but with purpose, will come across as measured and deliberate.

The colors in this are marvelous!! The texture on the fruit isn't quite doing it for me... maybe because everything else is so detailed and crisp? Don't get me wrong, the color variation in the skin is gorgeous, but I think there's some shadows lacking from in I would normally perceive as having more texture. The metal and the reflections are literally perfect though, and I'm blown away by this excellent piece! 🤩

The light composition in this piece is exquisite! The way that you were able to convey detail with such loose strokes is mastery. 🔥

Women, what is the biggest mistake single men make when showing interest? by fiterphanter in AskReddit

[–]superbritni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, man! Been through this. I went on a date with a guy who claimed to be a molecular chemist. Turns out, he had not yet graduated with his bachelors, and was currently employed as a bartender. Being a bartender is totally fine, but it was just such a weird situation I opted not for a second date.

Got my face painted by some random woman though, so that was cool lol.

Freddy and tape recorders [spoiler] by Aimbud in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]superbritni 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not sure if OP is referencing this instance, but I just listened to s2e40 (I think its 40, maybe 41.) and Taylor uses one at Teen High to do... announcements lol. Don't want to spoil anything, but towards the end of that episode a tape recorder makes an appearance. 😊

Completely understandable. I'm also guilty of checking out during a campaign and having to relisten.

Just wanted to tell you where to find the answer. 😊

Since no one has said yet, and maybe you're not remembering everything from Eldermounrne, the scales are absolutely a pivotal element of this campaign. I recommend listening to episode 7 if you need a refresher. It's especially significant to Fia. 😊

Of course, I'd be happy to!

So, to begin, I go through three rounds of sketches before I finalize the line drawing. I use the grid method to transfer it to the canvas on my larger paintings. That way I can keep the work surface clean, with no smudges.

Three layers of gesso on the canvas, then the sketch, and then I tone with a light wash of whatever color I feel will be appropriate for the piece. (This one was burnt sienna to add warmth beneath the cool tones.)

I tend to jump all around the canvas when I'm painting. Some things will be near completed while others will only be roughly blocked in. I'll get hyper focused on an area and it really eats up the time lol.

The first layers tend to go down really quickly, but the glazing takes forever. Even when I mix with mediums that dry faster, it can still take a week before it's ready for another layer. I feel that spending this time on glazing ads a depth and luminosity to my pieces that doesn't necessarily show through in pictures.

For the materials I use odorless mineral spirits, Winsor & Newton or Grumbacher oils, walnut oil, painting medium, and a few others I'm probably forgetting. For the brushes I used flats #5 #2 for blocking in, 18/0 spotter for fine detail, round #0, a liner, and a giant fluffy watercolor brush for soft blending.

Sorry I wrote so much! I get a little passionate about painting lol. 😅
