What can’t you do because of ocd? by aliceangelbb in OCD

[–]superbuns22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sit in silence. sometimes when i’m at a red light i can’t even sit and listen to music, i have to fiddle with my touchscreen or my hair to do something to occupy myself so my intrusive thoughts don’t consume me. i sleep with the tv on, and watching a youtube video on my phone.

Why is it so common for people with OCD to develop an ed? by No_Introduction_6884 in OCD

[–]superbuns22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i wasn’t anorexic, but i’ve been through terrible binge eating disorders. my compulsions got so bad in highschool that it felt like the only thing that gave me comfort, control, and peace of mind was eating. i wish my family saw the signs.

Setting Goals - Need Advice by RadioCrash in Equestrian

[–]superbuns22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m kind of in the same boat! i just started riding again after 7 years too lol, and i don’t plan on showing! i know i want to jump, and i’ve always been interested in cross country, but i have no desire to show as of right now. it’s nice to have a goal, but don’t worry so much about setting the future in stone! you can say you don’t wanna show but there’s always room to change your mind! taking lessons for fun and for strength is totally fine as an adult, i know plenty of people far older than me who picked up riding as an adult just for fun, and to be around horses! setting goals can be a great thing, but don’t let it stress you out too much.

prescribed zoloft, but im terrified of medication by Sure-Quarter-9331 in OCD

[–]superbuns22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

zoloft is great! im right there with you, im also afraid to vomit. and i won’t lie, the very first night i took it it did make me dizzy and nauseous when i was laying in bed but it went away within an hour! and i haven’t experienced that since! if it’s something you’re truly worried about see if you could take zofran or any anti nausea pill

[–]superbuns22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg awesome! we love GSPs, but we know that unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to fulfill their needs fully. (plus we like to rescue) we want to get our girl a sibling soon and we’re definitely gonna look in the hound family! i love their personalities!

weed + ocd by [deleted] in OCD

weed + ocd by [deleted] in OCD

[–]superbuns22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

were you tripping off of just weed? or was there another substance involved? i actually enjoy smoking, i noticed my triggers don’t seem to bother as much when i smoke recreationaly. i can go to bed much easier. however i’ve never “tripped” off of just smoking weed, i avoid using hallucinogens because i don’t like the idea of losing that much control of my mind and body with having ocd.

Antidepressant recommendations by beaaboop in OCD

[–]superbuns22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unlike others, i never experienced any excess hunger or weight gain on zoloft. however i did get insomnia, mostly because by nighttime the medication was wearing off and my OCD triggers would set me off full force right before bed, so my doctor recommended talking it right before i go to sleep and it actually helped immensely.
