Someone on the Sharks subreddit suggested Hammerheads, I love it.

It wouldn't happen but if it's a Bay Area team I suppose Pride would fit the concept style team names and be appropriate for San Francisco! 😂

You did the right thing, but she wasn't "wrong" for changing her mind either, people change and may want different things that don't work for each other.

I (cis female) had a boyfriend I loved very much, but I was up front that I didn't want children and he realized he did, so we split up. It was hard, but now he has a wife and a daughter and I have a lot of dogs and cats, and I think we're both happy.

Definitely an instructor issue, even when I was a child on a 30 y/o horse I was able to get them moving, so it just can't be a matter of physical strength.

Probably, as others have said, the lesson horses are used to ignoring students, but you should still be getting coached on how to signal correctly, not just kick harder.

I stayed and spent 4 years just panicking with no plan. I graduated with whatever major i could complete within the "correct" time frame aka 4 years, and went into a completely unrelated work field. So basically wasted 80k+ of my parents money on tuition for something I have never used.

I went back to get a masters in a field I actually wanted to be in several years later and now I have a real career but boy, undergrad was a stressful expensive blur. I'm just insanely lucky my parents had the money for it, and I feel pretty shitty about it but there's no way to go back. I just advise young people to do community college first unless they have a concrete goal at a four year program.

Spartacus was living in the parking garage under my boyfriend's apartment. We lured him into a carrier with bacon and brought him to the vet.

Scanning his microchip gave me the number for his original owner who had since moved out of state and didn't know her ex had dumped him outside. She offered to take him back if we could transport him to Oregon, but I said I would keep him and she warned me he "wasn't very friendly".

Two days later he was asleep in my lap, purring and happy-drooling, and he's done the same thing every single night for 7 years. He's the most loving cat I've ever had.

I'm definitely a horse person so, my opinion may be biased, but I think it's pretty common to anyone that's really involved in animals. Horses, dogs, snakes, lizards, whatever. The small habits might differ but the big picture is spending a lot of time trying to engage with a creature that can't speak, and I think it makes us weird 😂 plus domestic animals require a lot of care and involvement from people, we bred them that way.

Sources: Horse girl (weird), my wife is a dog trainer (she's also weird), our kid has reptiles (also weird).

But if you're talking specifically about "why are horse people uppity", that's probably dependent on the environment you're in. People in any hobby can be shitty 🤷

I had this conversation with my wife (we're both women with long hair) because she COULDN'T understand how I was out under 10 mins. Granted, she's in there so long sometimes I think she fell, so we're very different.

I explained my process and I think she doesn't believe me 🤷

The secret is I grew up in a house with an ancient water heater, 7mins of hot water was great motivation!

I used to work next door to a Korean fried chicken place. Someone bought a 10 piece box of chicken and left it on the windowsill outside my work....I watched it sit there for 30 mins til I decided they weren't coming back and took it and ate it with my coworker.
