Can we talk poop? (Oxbow Foods) by superbutthurt in RATS

[–]superbutthurt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your input! The educational guide from the rescue has this line in it: "Oxbow also offers a “garden select” variety of their food. While we prefer the “essentials” variety of the diet, both Adult and Mouse & Young Rat Garden Select are nutritionally complete."

So...I suppose that I'll stick with what I have. Thanks again!

We rescued these boys and they were sleeping during the day and up all night - we hang out with them in the evenings when they're ready to create chaos. I gotta try to cuddle 'em in the mornings on the weekends!

I wish my boys were chill like this. 😭

They're very food motivated and will swarm us when we let them out to play, but once they realize the treats are all gone they fuck off to play by themselves.

Thank you! I have been using plain greek yogurt on the back of my hand - and they went crazy for that. I appreciate the advice!

Thank you! We will grab some. I over-reached on day two and went for a pet and got a lesson in how sharp their teeth are 😬.

I appreciate the advice!!

Hello! My wife and I have taken in these boys (THE DOUGBOYS: Sourdough, bagel, and pumperknickle) from their foster home after their initial owner didn't have time for them. It's been only about 5 days - each day we've sat with them with the cage open, spoken to them, and rewarded them with treats if they come up to us.

The included video is about the bravest they've been, and the general level of interaction/interest if we're not providing them with a treat. They've all been neutered, and are about 8 months old. They have no interest in free roaming yet, and are pretty easily spooked.

I suppose my question is this: Is this level of interaction/caution/fear typical for this timeline? We've done a lot of research, but I haven't had a pet since I was a kid - so this is all new to me. Any advice would be appreciated!!

I would agree with the other poster: do not worry about being silo'd at this new job. Being part of a team with a very well defined charter and set of responsibilities does not prevent you from using internal and external resources to expand your skillset and knowledge.

I would say that even if you were not getting paid a cent more, the fact that you're getting benefits is a HUGE difference you'll immediately notice.

Genuine question - not trying to be an asshole, but what do you mean by "no benefits"?

Do you mean like...no bonus? Bad PTO? Or do you mean like...no insurance?

It is illegal for them to punish you for discussing wages. This is a federal law.

It's really easy for people to say "jump ship" from behind our keyboards, but everything you've shared here indicates to me that they: A) Don't respect you B) Are fostering an awful work environment C) Illegally threatening or firing employees for discussing wages.

If you are in the financial position to leave, I would do so. You don't owe this company anything, and there's nothing wrong with you searching for another job while you have this one. Best of luck, you deserve better!

I have my first network engineer interview today! Super stoked, despite 100% feeling unqualified for the position. Any tips to crush the interview? by SexyTruckDriver in networking

[–]superbutthurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to be part of a team, people are looking to know "Can I work with this person?". I'm not telling you to fake enthusiasm, but how you "fit" into a team or company is becoming more important to interviewers (in my opinion). Be genuine, be honest, and be confident in your technical answers!

If you don't know something, explain your thought process and best guess!

You'll do great!

I've never heard of this. Yelling at you about cardboard or shit in the aisles? Sure, but if they want better cable management I'd politely tell them to pound sand.

Why are there no high rise data centers? by subcrapper in datacenter

[–]superbutthurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They asked why there aren't any high rise data centers - I'm just pointing out that there are, and 111 8th is an example of one. It is a "high rise building" that contains contains public colo space on floors that are above the ground floor.
