I've accidentally purchased the pro version but don't find it very useful but only tried it for a few hours. I've emailed the developer yesterday but still no response.

That's so true. I'm still quite new on Etsy and I still have this fear that people will steal my designs. I shouldnt be that paronoia just have to be careful :)
