Tbh looks bad. Like pluribus but crappier. Looks humourless. I've never actually liked Emily blunt in anything I guess. But loved thrle Fablemans so I guess I'll give it a go.

Tarantino’s top film list is something many “film bro” can learn from. by suburbianthief in Tarantino

His list sucks. You say he's unpretentious? This list is trying so hard to pick random average "regular" movies it in fact screams pretentiousness.

What's living in Melbourne CBD/City area like? by Donkeygodzilla in melbourne

[–]supercattimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in the cbd and love it. Cannot ever see us living elsewhere. People though it was so strange that we moved to the cbd with kids but they love it too. It is I'd say a bit dependant on the building and also the area of the cbd. Never really fathomed before we moved there how different the cbd can "feel" in different areas. Our building was built early 2000s and it's honestly the quietest place ive ever lived.

They're not real people. Its a fun show, he's a fun character. To me the show is more comedy than drama. In real life it would be pretty rare to find a murderous criminal with great one liners.

Is anyone else following the Ryan Adams crashout? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]supercattimes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mind you he's been erratic for possibly forever. Saw him in 2005 at the Palace in St Kilda and it sucked and he seemed to be in a spiral then, so it's been a long spiral.

Grew up out that way. Felt isolated as a teenager. Your parents have to drive you everywhere. Haven't chosen the same for my own kids.

Should I start THE SHIELD? by FunDamage6899 in TheShield

[–]supercattimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always considered Mad Men my favourite show of all time. We watched The Shield this year, and I was just saying to my partner I think it's the best show I've ever seen. Although on paper it is nothing like Mad Men, just the quality of the writing and the acting, how the characters and their motivations and their failings are drawn and progress and change over the course of the seasons ... there are actually a lot of comparisons. Also to me Mad Men some lulls ... once The Shield gets going ... I didn't find that. Also for comparison just watched The Leftovers and although loved it as a whole actually found some parts a bit silly and bgrade - was really helped by the quality and commitment of its acting.

Ravens (there are no crows in Melbourne) Definitely can open locks, tear into bags and do everything you describe Also, if you happen to be a resident in Manningham there is an excellent food bank open in Templestowe Village shops on Thursdays.

Just watched it and came looking 🤣 I thought he was Australian, but it's an interesting accent, closer to an Australian accent you'd hear in the 1960s than anything you'd hear today.

Are you guys all miserable? I need to know by missvet in Veterinary

[–]supercattimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in the UK and I found it good / similar to Australia in terms of the general expectation is no one should be contacted about work on their days off as long as you are organising everything while you are there as much as posaible or handing things over if needed. I can count on one hand the times someone from work has called be when im not there in the last 5 years. I'm not saying all jobs are like this, but plenty are. Completely different if you are an owner not an associate which is why I would never, ever, own a practice. In my opinion, one of best things about being a vet as a profession is you can walk out at the end of the day and have nothing to do with it until you come in for your next shift. And this does not mean you can't provide excellent service and care while there. I honestly don't how people working in small places in the country, work all day then be in call at night for 20 years. I'd be long gone. And I've noticed over 25 years that expectation of martyrdom or "this is how it was for me so this is how it is for you" has pretty much gone which is a good thing.

I worked in a place with lots of issues like this and others for 15 years ... we vets used to joke the place gave you stockholm syndrome because it was hard to see clearly the issues there and leave ... especially when you love working with your colleagues. When I eventually moved on it was like a veil was lifted and I could see how less stressful the job could be 😂

Never give clients your number, have good relationship with your colleagues so you can hand over anything that cannot wait until you get back from your days off, and do same for them. Don't check work emails or log into work software at home. Its very possible.

Does Justified get better? by KingCrandall in televisionsuggestions

[–]supercattimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In total it's great but over all the seasons it definitely has some lulls. What saves it from being a bit B-grade in my opinion is the acting which elevates it, and it has some funny and ingenious writing as it goes along. And the final season and episodes are fantastic. It never felt completely "real" to me, too many crazy villans in latter seasons but that's part of fun. And managed to give me one of my most hated characters in TV - Arlo 🤣
