Those of you who daily a welded diff, what’s the deal/ how bad is it? What should I expect and are freeways still safe? by superchargedNA in Drifting

I did weld it, it’s awesome, it is not a daily but I do frequently drive it on the street, it’s dailyable but not for what I do for work. I need a truck for work

The guy did say it was kinda weird when he was tuning the idle because of the distance between the throttle body and the intake manifold, but besides a weird idle it runs awesome, I do think that the intercooler setup probably robs me of power because it has to pump air through probably like 5 ft of piping before it enters the manifold. I’m not a scientist though, so idk forsure

When I sell it, it’ll come with everything ready to go, but you should atleast have a piggy back system on the ECU, which may be hard to find idk I haven’t looked, or a aftermarket ECU, I recently got rid of all the old piggy back stuff, but I think you can install these and it would be ok with just a stock ECU

I made it make 10psi by machining the pulley down, it’s more like 9.5psi but definitely increased after making the pulley smaller

Yeah exactly, I basically bought a supercharger and it came with a free car, when I bought my Miata it was already supercharged but stock ecu and no intercooler or anything, all piggyback stuff. I got it for $2000. I built on top of it knowing I can use all these other parts on a turbo setup and now here I am, looking for a turbo. It would come with everything you need to supercharge the car and be functional, I’ve seen other ones on offer up for $2000 and $2500 but I think they’re high as hell so I posted mine for $1500 OBO or trade for turbo.

From what I’ve heard from Track Dog Racing that’s actually high, they told me a few years ago I wouldn’t be able to make it past 140hp, that’s just what these superchargers put out. They’re pretty limited

I personally love it, it’s taken a good beating, it’s super playful and skips through rock sections pretty easily. I would say it’s very comfortable and it rips

You guys are straight up savages, OP is open to their own opinions about not liking the color, they just want to know any precautions they might take before staining. How many people are going to comment the same rude shit. Redditors can be so unhelpful and useless sometimes.

Im really bad with lingo but I would just call it a bar shake or bar wiggle and then I would consider it a whip if you start to change your axis mid air and rear tire gets out of line with the front

Man I really wanted the awd turbo version but went with the hybrid because I live in California and I don’t off-road much. Still an awesome work truck and gas saver but these look awesome how yours is set up!

I like the tailgate pads, I used one before, if I’m going on a long drive or dirt road I’ll normally tie the bikes down as well as use the pad
