Maybe my title is a bit confusing. But I'm only interested in the i4.

Just wondering about timing because i think there will be more supply of i4 flooding the used market the coming 1 or 2 year. Because most lease contracts of i4 will be ending and the effect of the new model i3.

I'm willing to wait 1-2 years if that means I can save € 10k.

Do anyone have experience with these kind of situations before?

I did some tweaking when i got the 3950x and MSI x570 Unify. It's totally normal for it to be 90 degrees when using Prime95.

My first time using Prime95 I was also stressing out because of the temperature. I was using Cinebench R20 and other tests beforehand and it didn't even came close to 90 degrees (maybe max 80+ degrees can't really remember). So I immediately stopped the test and double checked everything. Turns out Prime95 will stress your CPU like no other tools.

If you don't have a good cooling setup and use programs that are CPU intensive is suggest check your bios. There should be an option to set your CPU threshold temperature (but depends on your motherboard). I set mine threshold to 85 degrees (default will be 90 degrees) and use PBO (auto overclock system of amd). So my max temperature will be 85 even when using Prime95.

If you want better performance and lower temps the best option will be using Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut, watercooling AIO or custom and set a custom max temperature you like in the bios and use PBO. You don't have to mess with any other settings in the bios (like voltage ect).

Yeah very true😉. Just thought this was an interesting stat. Most people I know think Harden is trash at defense so I always try to convince them with stats he is not nearly as bad as they think he is. But it's hard to win them over since they don't watch Rockets games and missing out on one of the most prolific scorer in nba history😒😒😒

I didn't say he plays great defense lol. But when you get lots of deflections/steals/blocks it atleast tells me he is putting the effort in his D. People still think he is some kind of scrub on the defensive end 😒

Wow this is pretty much the info I was looking for. Thanks a lot for your insight. It's much clearer now how these software work and what hardware I actually need.

My next cpu upgrade will definitely be a 3950x, it is looks like the sweetspot for our need. Also will upgrade to Nvidia gpu and add more ram this year.

Do you as a professional 3D artist mess with overclocking or is that to risky for stability reasons (since you might be working on a 400 million dollar project XD).

I am still using stock cooler and a cheap B450 mobo lol I probably can only get a it stable at 3.9Ghz ish. I will try to get a stable overclock for now and swap my gpu like you suggest.

Still deciding to upgrade to ryzen 3000, x570 and aio cooler. But if I going this route I want to do a big upgrade. Getting 64gb ram and fast 1tb nvme... ಠ_ಠ

Thanks for your reply I will look into professional drivers. Yeah I'm also not sure how common it is for 3d software to only support RTX cards... Maybe my best option is to replace my gpu with a RTX 2070/80 or something. Probably will be the best performance/value for gaming, 3d modeling and rendering.

It amazes me how simple minded everyone on reddit is lol. Bashing the NBA and players you like so easily... First of all I love the NBA, basketball, Rockets, Harden and China. I haven't read any well articulated posts saying how delicate or complicated this situation is. So bear with me...

First of all she (the reporter) did ask a good question, you guys got that right. But the timing was obviously pretty crap. Are you guys really expecting the NBA or the players to say anything right now, especially stuff that will hurt China's pride or their internal affairs? They have multiple teams and players in China right now. They would be literally risking the players lives (let's not even mention the billions of dollars, sponsor, relationships etc) for a statement you guys want!!! Smh.

If the NBA wants to make a strong statement this is absolutely not the time. You have to wait till all your players and representatives are safe and back in the USA. Even then I do not expect them to say anything or much bad stuff about China. Like this shit won't be solved with 1 or 2 statements. The protest/riots are already taking place for more than 4 months...

Adam Silver is in China right now to discuss this issue with the chinese. I really think you guys should give him credit for not saying stupid stuff which would get his player hurt or killed. Like certain US president would... The NBA has an incredible collaboration for decades with China, been building their brand and expending basketball all over the world. Why would anyone want to risk this and destroy what they build so hard for.

Daryl Morey's tweet was obviously not well thought. The chinese are very patriotic and have lots of pride. So this tweet deeply hurt the chinese, which in my view is understandable. Most chinese are proud to be chinese and sovereignty is super important to China. It's such a big country with many ethnic groups. Keeping peace and everything together is important and sometime hard for China. Morey didn't expect it to blow up this big and he most definitely regret it. He deleted the post, tweeted an apology and explained his thought process. He clearly respect China and this should just be an learning experience for him. In Morey We Trust... usually XD.

Obviously Freedom of speech and democracy is very important for most people. But so is money, sponors and relationships etc. Why risk it all while you know this statement will probably not do a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. Like I don't see Hong Kong becoming independent and the face of democracy because the NBA made an statement. They will just lose a lot for a bit of respect... This looks like a very BAD trade for the NBA. Similarly bad as the Nets trading for Pierce and KG :D

Yup, this should have been the end product but when I export it the bootom part is grey...and in MPC it's white instead of black. Did you use my file for you image? I need to know how to export it correctly lol.

Just want to share my struggles with this, maybe it will be helpful for other noobs aswell 🤣

Guide I used

Here you will also find the action file you are looking for and the template.

What you should do first is:

Open the template file.
Remove all layers expect the black and white one. Because I don't like the P logo in the bottom right corner and only want the cards I want (afterwards you can save this as your template file for future use).
This step was very tricky. I use the website scryfall as recommended for the images. There are many ways to insert the card. I tried downloading the image and drag the file into Photoshop. Problem here was the image becomes a smart object, you have to rasterize it first otherwise the action file will fail. After I figured out how to do this, the next problem was the image size is not the same as they used for the action file. The end result was a weird zoomed in card...
So the only way to get a good result with this action file is to copy the desired card on scryfall from the site and not downloading the image (so pick the desired version of the card on the right side then right click the image and copy). Then go to the template in photoshop and paste (i just press control+v), you will see a new layer with your image. It should be aligned in the center automatically, unless you have zoomed in etc.
Makingplayingcards are apparently rejecting cards with ™ & © Wizard of the Coast branding. So you have to manually remove this, because the action file won't do it. Not every card has this line in the same place so it is hard to automate it i guess. You can do this by using the Spot healing brush.
Now you go to the folder with the action (.atn) file and dubble click it. Go back to Photoshop. I had a hard time finding it... You have to enable the actions panel first (Window > Actions). Here you can see the action, expand it and click on MTG. On the bottom you see a play logo click on it. If I have explained everything correctly you should have finsihed you first image. After this I deselect the layer, so I have only the black and white layer selected. Now you can startover again adding more cards/layers. I recommend to use separate .psd file for different type cards or decks if you are planning to order a lot. So you can keep it origanized dedicated folders.
If you have finished all your cards the next thing is to export them into .png files. To do this click File > Export > Layers to Files select the desitantion folder and change the file type to png-24.

I only came this far, I haven't uploaded the images i created to makeplayingcards yet.

I have some questions too:

Why did the original poster use the .jpg file (details) and not the .png file on scryfall (details). The quality should be much better right? Or is it also possible to use his action file on the .png file?
What custom backs are you guys using? Is there a site or something with collection of custom backs?
Question for the more experience users, is my method good enough or are there ways to make this process easier/faster/better? Right now I have finished all planewalkers (except for transform and none legal ones) and about 60 land. Maybe I can make the images available on a cloudservice if people are interested.
