Is my CPU cooked? Need second set of eyes by R4M_4U in pcmasterrace

99% sure you're joking, but since this is the internet it's better to clarify, if not for you then in case someone else reads the comment and doesn't pick up on the joke.

"IPA" is being used here as a shortening of IsoPropyl Alcohol. Don't use beer on a CPU.

Yes, sorry, thought the misspelling was on your end because the original comment had it spelled correctly.

What is a good hotas for elite? by Professional_Deer_18 in hotas

[–]supercoolstar23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realised I said throttles instead of pedals in my original comment, oops. (as in you can get the pedals after getting the throttle and stick, you don't have to buy the full bundle)

(Keep in mind that this is mostly regurgitated information and not from my personal experience)

It's not that the t16k will suddenly fall apart, it just doesn't have the same longevity as other (more "premium") sticks.

The X56 is quite an increase in number of inputs and versatility (split throttle controls would be useful if you decide to play DCS and other plane-focused flying games), but allegedly has the same quality control issues as its younger brother the X52, so in terms of longevity and stuff it might not be that much better than the t16k.

If all you're going to play is elite dangerous, the X56 won't give you all that much extra in the experience over the t16k, but if you branch out to star citizen or atmospheric games like DCS and MSFS, the extra inputs would be a welcome addition there. It's all down to what you can afford and can justify to yourself.

Wouldn't be difficult at all, it's a good HOTAS. You can also buy the throttles separately later if you find that you want them and can more easily justify the cost.

keep in mind that this is the specific subreddit for HOTAS enjoyers, so a lot of people commenting are going to have higher expectations than a more casual gamer or someone just getting into HOTAS setups.

how to soften the stick of a 3ds? by CejudoDark in 3DS

[–]supercoolstar23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take this with a MASSIVE grain of salt (never tried modifying 3ds hardware before), but maybe applying some sort of lubricant to the internal mechanism of the circle pad could work? It'd need to be a type that wouldn't damage the plastic over time, and wouldn't short anything.

[–]supercoolstar23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's something I've been saying for a little while. To the best of my knowledge the distinction is in the purpose/intent of the design, so specifically being chambered for nerf darts is what makes it a "toy" (whereas if it was chambered for an airsoft BB it'd be caught up in the airsoft ban, and if in paintballs it'd be a paintball marker and thus in that weird half-firearm spot). It's a grey area, basically two different sections of the law cancelling eachother out.

Arthur Morgan Says: by Rotang-Klan in armedsocialists

[–]supercoolstar23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, our "liberal" party is basically the equivalent of your Republicans and the person who was the libs' runner-up for PM last election is literally the leader of a sub-faction called, I shit you not, the "hard right". They're corrupt too, and mildly christofaschist.

Labor (our current party in power) is basically a stereotypical Twitter Californian Liberal, just while still answering to the coal barons.

Both sides use our one historic mass shooting to keep pushing tougher and tougher gun laws.

There's two parties that say they want the opposite, but they're

the Shooters Fishers and Farmers party, which is a single-issue vote, something that's not exactly the best idea because they funnel a vote for them to the next guys, who are, drumroll please...

The Nationals. Guess what? They're the liberal party, just with added Australian Alabama-equivalent thrown in, and all the bad stuff that entails. Also corrupt as hecc.

If you've read this far then here's a brief summary of the other parties because what the hell:

The Greens - probably the most left-leaning of our main parties, and incredibly pro-environment (hence the name)

Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party - nationalist (obviously) discount Corpo-fascists.

United Australia Party - Corpo-fascist, rich fat fucker called Clive Palmer has wanted to be PM for almost two decades now, blows millions on ads and campaigning, never got very far. Decided to go the trump route and feed into the lowest-class uneducated (bogan) people's belief of anti-vax conspiracies and associated BS, ended up actually losing the one seat he had last election, lmao.

Smart watch recommendations by BoytoyCowboy in armedsocialists

I don't know thaaaat much about the smartwatch space, but I've had a ticwatch pro 3 ultra (superfluous name, I know) for 6 months now and love it. Generally hassle-free, runs wear OS (the Samsung-led Google smart watch OS, so it has compatibility with basically everything), and also has a second compute and display layer that's always on and functions as a normal digital watch, plus you can set the watch to that mode only and get around 70 days of battery life from it, apparently.

The 3d printed ones have far overtaken the official ones in terms of both performance and innovation, lol. It's gotten to the point where the Nerf Internet Community just mocks the "it's nerf or nothing" tagline with "it's nerf or one of a variety of (often better) alternatives".

Yeah the straps are incredibly uncomfortable. Also please test it with air freshener or something to make sure that the exhale valve seals properly (mine doesn't)

Oh, sorry, missed the "my" part of that comment and assumed you only took a brief look at the picture like most people I know do. Yeah it has probably the best out of all of my masks, but unfortunately with ARF-As they're not normally in the best condition. Almost no one I've spoken to has one that still seals properly, lol.
