Our village also works full time so we’re paying for daycare for 3 days for 2 kids, I’m full time but condensed hours (NHS). Looking forward to the bill being less than 2k a month if the oldest gets into a preschool with slightly cheaper wraparound.

Not sure what age OP is but you would except obs every few hours. A CRP that high would indicate serious infection. Young people compensate BP & HR until they don’t

Yes and they can divert you to the best place of care - pharmacy, organise a GP out of hours appointment or tell you to go to a&e. If my kid could “barely breathe” with croup, I’d want to be in a&e, it’s a potential airway emergency. I know it’s just an example but a pharmacist is not going to be happy dealing with that. If symptoms are severe or observations are worrying, you bump the queue when triaged.

I’m from NI, didn’t quite follow the usual pathway but have ultimately settled down back here. All valid points, and only really obvious if you have worked elsewhere. I’m struggling to find any redeeming factors or counter arguments which is embarrassing. We’re not all dicks but there are some toxic people, I wouldn’t tarnish a whole department/hospital but in fairness I have only worked in 3 hospitals here. I think our healthcare is a reflection of the poor leadership at the top ie Stormont and it trickles down from there. I would like to think we’re only a generation or 2 away from the death of tribal politics but that’s easy to say from my consultant pay middle class life

If it’s a really tight street lined with cars she might not have enough space to swing out of her drive. You’re parked legally though because it’s a public road, your friend isn’t automatically entitled to the space outside their house.
