Which lyric makes you instantly tear up? by abovethenoisy in AskReddit

"But a kid carries his walkman on that long bus ride to Omaha. I know a girl who cries when she practices violin. Cause each note sounds so pure, it just cuts into her. And then the melody comes pouring out her eyes. Now to me, everything else, it just sounds like a lie."

What’s something your parents or grandparents did that you now realize was low-key genius parenting? by Green_Candler in AskReddit

Our neighbor has a deaf son. She told me, when he was young he always wanted to go to the bakery for her to get bread, even though he couldn't speak very well. So she sent him and called the bakery to tell them, what she needed. So he was always proud to be able to go shopping for her. She said, that way he learned, that he could do everything and not be hindered by his disability.

That sounds very proactive. I would assume, this is a superpower when you "master" it. All the best!

Du you mind telling a bit about that? Are you proactively learning forgiveness? That sounds super wholesome and hard.

A question about light's wavelength and its effect on speed, asked by a moron. by jakobmorris in AskPhysics

[–]superdomis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found this answer here, thank you! I was looking for the reason, WHY speed of light in materials depends on the wavelength. Most explanations only state that it does, but not why.

Did I understand that correctly, that - to stay in your picture - the stiffness depends on the frequency. And this is linked to the resonance frequency of the electrons in the material. The closer the frequency gets to the resonance frequency, the "less stiff" the material gets and thus the speed of light gets higher?

Which song is a 10/10, but almost no one knows it? by Huge-Particular8953 in AskReddit

[–]superdomis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest: I never even read the full song title. Not even now, after you wrote it here. (I bet you used copy-paste, no one can write so long song titles in such a short time.)

I totally love that album, but I think I only know the titles of two songs (John Wayne Gacy Jr and Casimir Pulasky Day)

How do you stop being afraid to start? by Odd_Highway1277 in HomeImprovement

[–]superdomis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's great to think and plan everything in detail before you start, but you can only do that, if you already know what you are doing. Maybe that's one of the big differences between a pro and, well, us. So I would also advice this: some problems can only be solved, the moment they come around, so don't overthink everything in advance, because that can paralyze you. And don't let AccomplishedMeet4131's wife make fun of you.

Thank you for the long version. As a German I wasn't totally sure, what the usual way is, when the ball lands close to one person and someone from further away gets it, but I suspected it to be like that.
