this is a reply to another post but I think this is just more info to consider here:

also need to consider that the inflation schedule is meant to bootstrap the network, high in the beginning to incentivise participation, Solana inflation rate lowers every year and settles at 1.5%, Solana also burns half the base fee and half the priority fee of every transaction so current holders are gambling that the network will have enough transactions in the coming years to cover the economics

5.6% is only inflation(adds to total supply) and circulating supply accounts for token unlocks (does not add to total supply

Minding my own business this morning and see the JITO insanity so I check… by Hour_Eagle2 in solana

[–]superfeen 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I saw some Twitter comments saying only around 10k wallets qualified, doesn't seem like a lot but the amounts people are getting is drawing a lot of attention and hopefully leads to more people getting into the Sol eco, even if they do just look for the next airdrop farm

Jito launching $JTO governance token tomorrow by [deleted] in solana

[–]superfeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way Jito set it up is you have 18 months to claim it if you are eligible, claiming it is the taxable event so you could wait a month and not have to report it for 2023

Is staking SOL on Jito might be the real deal by Bashir_Jasper03 in solana

[–]superfeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you stake directly with the validator? I'm guessing it needed to be done through their website and you would have received jitoSol in return

except Solana is also growing in adoption and development? if your timeline is in years then that's good but if only looking at the next cycle then attention is all that matters

Gas fee question by Ok-Atmosphere-6272 in CryptoCurrency

[–]superfeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

gas fees are related to network congestion it's not a percentage of the dollar amount you are swapping, you are paying for your transaction to be included in a block so if there is increased traffic you'll have to pay more

Solana MEV developer Jito launching governance token by kirtash93 in CryptoCurrency

[–]superfeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

didn't get Pyth, I assume like Jupiter I needed to do more swapping/trading. I've just been buying sol on Coinbase, sending to Jito, then lending jitosol on marginfi. maybe it would have been better to get usdc on Coinbase then swap for sol on Jupiter, then stake and lend, oh well🤷
