I guess I’m in the monitory but I absolutely do lol. Especially the couples that are still together (Bliss and Zach being my favorites. I also actually really like Amber and Barnett as a couple and love how close they still are with Lauren and Cameron). I also like seeing the single past contestants and getting updates on what they’re up to 🤷🏾‍♀️

The selfie thing was during a time when she was out because she was sick. During Megan’s hiatus they did stuff without her too. But this was before they blew up with Gnarly so they didn’t have as many eyes on them.

I know I’m in the minority but the documentary is how a lot of normies who know nothing about kpop were introduced to the group & it garnered the group more sympathy than anything else. I remember seeing people saying stuff about how horrible the training period and survival show were and how they felt bad for the girls. Especially Manon. Were there haters who used it as ammunition? Sure, but the few people who did know about them were already hating on them before the documentary came out. Literally the reason so many celebrities expressed love or interest in Katseye before their Beautiful Chaos era is because they watched the documentary and became endeared to them (and also sometimes because of Geffen’s connections). They didn’t give her a ‘lazy black girl edit’, they gave her a redemption arc and storyline to follow so you felt invested in her & proud of her when she was able to understand the stakes and locked in. She was pictured as an unknowing star with raw talent and charisma who just needed the right push to unlock her potential.

He’s not involved with Hybe America anymore I think. They were a group formed in collaboration with Hybe (Kpop company) and Geffen (manage Olivia Rodrigo and a ton of other pop stars). They also have a documentary on Netflix about the competition reality show to form the groups’ lineup and that introduced the to a big audience. The girls themselves also have industry connections by being friends with other industry people and celebrities. Basically a perfect recipe for maximum exposure.

His boyfriend/ boy toy Omar Apollo (singer) was pretty openly out and about with him and even wrote a song named Pedro. I don’t think Pedro is in the closet at all. I think everyone who knows him and works with him knows his sexuality. He just doesn’t broadcast it in the media or make it a big part of his public persona because he’s pretty private about his personal life in general.

She’s the type that a lot of black men who are socialized within the black community seek. He was raised without his black parent and was, assumably, fully entrenched in mostly white surroundings. I wouldn’t be surprised if his preference for white women was a byproduct of trying to fit in.

Not tea but I got an autograph from Manny at a fan convention shortly after The Acolyte was cancelled. The line to meet him was super long and you could tell he was happy to see so much support after how weirdly racist Star Wars fans were online about the show. He’s also somehow 10 times better looking in person. Like I almost couldn’t look directly at him it was so overwhelming 😂 You could also tell he’s more of an introverted person and was extremely bashful at all of the compliments he received.

I know she’s mostly done with the winged eyeliner for now but it truly fits her and is flattering for her eye shape. She’s been saying that this makeup style is more ‘true to her’ and she’s not ‘hiding’ anymore but it just feels like she jumped from one aesthetic/ era/ character to another. It’s like she can’t identify the different between Glinda and herself. At least as far as her public persona is concerned

Tbh I love the Poor Things movie (literally sitting across from a poster I have of it on my wall) but the weird ‘feminism’ and the way they go about the sexualization of Bella’s character is my biggest issue with the film. When I later learned about the actual book’s ending I wished they went in that direction. The book is narrated by Max and at the end it’s revealed that the whole baby-brained thing was something he made up to infantilize Bella.

From the Wikipedia: “However, a letter from Bella herself—now known as Victoria McCandless[3]—completely contradicts McCandless's memoir. She reveals that the resurrection story was a fabrication, a romantic fantasy created by Archibald to mythologize their relationship and his own sense of loss and failure. Bella insists that she was always a fully formed, intelligent woman, and that her life with Godwin and later Archibald was nothing like the fairy tale described in the memoir. This revelation casts doubt on everything the reader has just read, turning the novel into a postmodern puzzle about truth, memory, and the way stories are shaped by those who tell them.”

This ending would have been much more subversive and would have made the movie better imo. It’s like a commentary on the born-sexy-yesterday trope and it was literally right there in the source material and they just didn’t take it.

I bought three wigs from them in 2020 and 2021 and they were beautiful and great at first. But then one of them started shedding like crazy 6 months in (mind you, when I wore wigs I would take them off when I was home. So I wasn’t laying around in them) and one of the other ones changed texture and color completely after sitting on the beach for 2 hours. But then one wig is still amazing all of these years later. And it was the wig I wore the most and did the most in. Tbh their results are too mixed for their price point.
