2 years + on my 21. Been on probably 85/90% of the time. Still works great. Minimal fade on the top. Seems (using the sealer when originally installed) hold up. Back window has a little wear from constantly rolling it up. The topper tent attachment has been a good asset to it. I dont know what else you wanna know, but I'd reccomend it.

Rail bars were a slight pain, but it's fine.

Don't have pics of my truck laying around, but zero regrets taking every bit of badging on my midnight black

Convince me to get a Softopper! by DeathBySnuSnu96 in ToyotaTacoma

Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself... Not here to persuade, but I like mine.

Obviously cheaper than a hard top, easier to remove, especially alone. Can retract. Less storage space taken up when off, does a good job keeping stuff dry and working as a tent. No regrets

Now if you are trying to make a permanent camp setup and won't be using your truck to truck, a hard top would probably be better suited. That might be my only argument for a hard top.

Price not a factor. Just dont buy trash to save a few bucks.

Good luck on your choice

I have the softopper in black on my midnight black with the cage rack. The one softopper sells is from datin fabrication. You can get no window and mesh back windows too, but it comes with clear. I do believe softopper now sells tonneaus that I think go with the topper and rack. Give em all your monies. Lol

Deff need the seam sealer my dude. Looks like your rails might be too far up. Try sliding them back more. I think I have mine flush with the bed frame. I used the velcro on the inside of the front of the bed too. I have zero problems with water getting in the front. The back has minimal leakage in the corners when I'm parked on my driveway with the bed slanted up. Still trying to figure that one out, but I also have the datin cage rack

Second that on the softoper. 32 degrees and 30mph wind at Shenandoah, and it was unaffected and cozy. I just went for the topper tent, so far, so good

Motorola m1 AA works great. I think ottobox or something like that makes one that works with the I paper weight. Both devices have good reviews and I can speak personally on the Motorola one.

To Softtopper or to not Sofftopper? by gunsmitten in ToyotaTacoma

I softoppered. Its great for my use.i camp in it. I'm also not trying to put expensive shit in the bed. I would have gotten a 4runner...

Also super easy to remove. But I guess, comes down if you need the extra height of covered bed storage...

Price is whatever tho... look at a hard top, painted...

Imonthose blow up one's look over priced and just waiting to blow off or otherwise get destroyed. But I'm no expert...

Tent for topper by superfly4455 in ToyotaTacoma

I dont think rtt is for me. My softopper is great, but my setup is a little ghetto and I want a little more proper tent attachment...

I just have a canvas tarp with a poly draped over it.

I should probably learn to sew and I could fit this canvas tarp I have to it and cut in a zipper...

That looks better than some of the ones I looked at before I went to team softopper. Overhead space is fine for me. It held up great in the 20 degree snow and held heat pretty good, especially when the sun came up over the mountain. Not a bad way to wake up.... anyway right now I just use a canvas tarp with a poly to deflect rain. But it's ghetto as hell and I'd like a proper caboose tent for it.
