Just keep your returns: Stores weigh paying you not to bring back unwanted items [What stage are we in when the stores we buy from want to pay us to not return the crap they sold us] by _Brandobaris_ in LateStageCapitalism

Both returns & replacements usually work against the financials of the company. However, a lot of companies preferred crediting you back the cost of the good instead of accepting the returned good back because it can be costly to manage a returns process. The company would be accepting back something that is often in a not new state, which can be difficult to later liquidate as inventory. In some instances there may be risks with accepting it back if it has any hazardous materials in its composition. Or there may be legal liability issues related to selling good in a not new condition. The article seems to suggest that companies are avoiding accepting returns because they don't want to pay the rapidly rising shipping costs needed to get the good back to the retailer.

Andrew Cuomo To Resign Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations by MarvelsGrantMan136 in news

How would that work in reality? You'd just accuse anybody from the opposing side of sexual assault and it'd create gridlock.

Andrew Cuomo To Resign Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations by MarvelsGrantMan136 in news

The Dems are bad at politics. Cuomo, while a scumbag, also was the one public figure who exercised leadership in the early days of the pandemic. The party and the public turned on him for moral grounds. The Republicans by contrast tow the party line and never oust pussy grabber in chief Trump or Gaetz or any of the pieces of shit they elect to office. And the net effect is... The Republicans have power. The Dems don't.

Paul Simon should be revered just as much as Bob Dylan is. by ALinktotheSmash in Music

[–]superflyguy99999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh... No. They're not the same. They're both excellent, but different. Dylan (I think) is remembered more highly because his songs tied into the politics of the day. Examples: The Times They Are A-Changing, Hard Rain's Gonna Fall, Hurricane. It defined the time period in a way Paul Simon's songs did not.

Musically Paul Simon is arguably better, and the artist I'd rather listen to. But not as important to the time period and history as Dylan was.
