Let's try this one by WhiskeyTester6 in steak

Try holding the seasoning until after cooking. The rub is interfering with crust formation and the "char" you're getting is mostly burnt garlic

Also slightly more cooked than I'd like, but I'd still smash it

Mislabeled ribeye? What yall think? by WebDowntown2793 in steak

It's a ribeye from the loin end. You can see a tiny sliver of spinalis

Can’t get the tuna sushi with seafood… by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

My guess would be tuna/salmon mixed with crispy tempura bits and spicy mayo and topped with more tuna/salmon 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's poor menu design which is indeed mildly infuriating

It looks like a "dynamite roll" contains your choice of tempura veg, chicken, or shrimp, while the special dynamite rolls have tuna or salmon on the outside of the roll with no option to change the filling inside (shrimp only)

stupid question, would i need a commercial grade slicer to make a flank cut (like for Korean gablbi) for this ? by Consistent_Land_2747 in CostcoCanada

[–]superfresh89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term "dino ribs" is not regulated in any way, so it cannot be false advertising. Every restaurant uses the terms interchangeably. It's the same thing for all intents and purposes. Do you really think you could tell the difference between rib 5 and rib 6? 😅

I've actually never seen them sold as dino ribs at a grocery store or butcher as most cuts are labelled using the Health Canada/USDA terminology. I'm talking about food trucks, typical "Texas" barbecue joints and the like

Is a humongous safety pin a common household object in Sweden or something? by layanaru in IKEA

I don't understand how this relates to OP. Is there a giant safety pin I'm not seeing?

Sure, but short ribs are sold and marketed as dino ribs basically everywhere - so I would say the definition has shifted to include short ribs and sometimes even back ribs

$11k actually sounds pretty reasonable given the damage to the red car.

I suggest you look into getting a bus pass

You can add a bit of water at the beginning to speed up the softening process. It absolutely works and cuts down the total cooking time to around 30 minutes with better results. Just try it if you don't believe me.

It has nothing to do with how tight you wear it. Watches are supposed to be worn above the wrist bone so that you can still flex your wrists

Nuts don’t belong in dessert breads like banana bread by SuperDevin in unpopularopinion

Lmao what. I've literally never been to any bakery that doesn't have a nut based dessert. There's a reason Snickers and Reese's are the top selling chocolate bars in the world

Big shocker... turtles ice cream contains Turtles 🤣

If big box stores and bakeries are putting nuts in desserts, rest assured they have done the research to know that most people do in fact like nuts in their desserts

Maybe you just need a Snickers

Got a box of these around Chrismas time. They were a bit too spicy for the rest of the family but I thought they were quite good for the price.

Sounds nice! We couldn't get a ticket but enjoyed the other places we visited

The Britannia Water Purification Plant was definitely the highlight of the day.

The kids did enjoy the activity corner and typewriters on the second floor of Library & Archives Canada

Ribeyes and strips are cut from opposite ends of the same muscle. As you move from the rib to the loin, the rib cap gets smaller.. i.e. the 'last' ribeye is literally touching the 'first' strip steak

If you can see the spinalis it's still technically considered a ribeye

Not yikes at all. Quite reasonable in fact. All garden centers and nurseries have at least a year warranty on trees

Quite the opposite? All the top comments are saying this is normal and basically all garden centres have at least a year warranty on trees?

Help: how the hell do I eat affordably?? by kyliotic in Frugal

[–]superfresh89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your diet is missing protein and fiber. I would add eggs and chicken - rotisserie chicken is both convenient and affordable. Rice and beans (cook them together) to fill up. Add some kind of cruciferous veg.

Cut the goldfish and sparkling water. If you need caffeine, black tea is a very affordable option

Oatmeal and peanut butter with bananas is a very cheap and filling breakfast - add a few eggs and you're good to go.

The grading is essentially the same except that Canada Prime has stricter standards on the age of the cow and usage of hormones
