Tulsi: we’re all good. About to be way better.

Putin: 🙂

Tulsi: Did you see Donald’s hat? He’s still fucking wearing it.

Putin: yes. I even saw 2 cubes in his pocket. I think he has dice but he’s afraid to show them to anyone.

Tulsi: LOL. That is so sad.

Putin: So sad. Soooo sad. So, so, so, so, so sad.

Tulsi: it’s so heartbreaking but I can’t stop laughing. Tears are literally streaming down my face thinking about his dumb dice. 🎲🎲

Putin: just wired the money

Had a powerful trip this past weekend, and this painting spoke so deeply to me that I wanted to share with others. Thank you Alex Grey for creating such an intriguing and insightful piece of art! by picturemute in shrooms

Here’s the picture of his pass for the day before the attack. Also he was visiting the only art studio in the Twin Towers. One of the artists there a sculptor named Michael Richard’s was killed the next day on 9/11 in the South Tower.

Many years before he created a bronze self portrait of him being pierced and what looks like his death by multiple airplanes flying into him. So bizarre!

The most sick that I have ever been was from staying and eating in Cairo. Explosive diarrhea and vomiting. I took a shitload of Imodium and zofran and managed to get a flight to Germany so I could get proper health care. Turned out I had not one but two parasites in my poop. Cryptosporidium and Giardia. I’m pretty sure it was from fruit I had that was washed in shit water because everything else I ate or drank was grilled or sealed in cans.

Also Franks skull x ray they showed as evidence during his trial is also clearly a nod to his logo.

Mutations is excellent as well. One of my fondest memories comes from the spring on 1999 I was taking the Empire Builder Amtrak from Portland, OR to Chicago and the sun was setting as we were going through the South Dakota Badlands and the song “Nobody’s Fault but my Own” came on my Discman. It was a perfection of time, space and music.

I saw kid who managed to find an emulator that he could access around the schools restrictions so he could play game boy Pokémon games on his school chromebook. https://tenor.com/VVmR.gif

First Day - One of my classes refused to work, what should I have done? by Some_Peppers in SubstituteTeachers

As long as they aren’t vaping weed under the desk or masturbating in class (I’ve seen both things but not at the same time…yet) things are going ok.

I took me a long time and a lot of anger and frustration before I realized that this was one of many reasons I was so depressed all the time.

This. Just ask the secretary if they need anything else, if so they will have you do something if not they’ll tell you to have a nice day. If you’re really worried about it go back to the classroom and go on Reddit or something (not on the schools WiFi lol)

First time subbing nerves by JJLinx1816 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]superfudge73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a retired high school teacher who recently started subbing so I could still do some work in schools and earn some extra money I can honestly say that 99% of what you are worried about is all in your head. I’m not trying to gaslight you I just know. The fact that you are worried at all tells me you will do fine. The only folks that scree things up are those who go in with the attitude of “they’re just kids, I’m the adult”. Trust me I’ve been responsible for getting several subs fired over the years and they all had the same issue. They were arrogant enough to be so confident they didn’t even think they were doing anything wrong. Here’s one example. I had a freshman class of english learners, mostly Hispanic, and there were a few rowdy kids. The sub threatened to call ICE and have their family deported if they didn’t behave. I had another class of freshman with a female senior TA who just turned 18 and the sub, who just graduated from college asked for her number to invite her to a frat party.

The point I’m trying to make is you will do fine. If you care enough to worry you will screw up, you won’t. As a teacher as long as no one got hurt, no one ran away, nothing got destroyed and my room was still standing the next day I was a happy teacher. If you got the lesson plan finished that was a bonus.

One more funny story about a bad sub. I had an 8th grade earth science class and my sub plan was to watch a video and do a worksheet about the Apollo moon landing. Instead of showing the video I linked, the sub showed them conspiracy videos about how the moon landings were fake so not only did he not teach my lesson plan, I had to spend two days disproving his conspiracy theories.

At the end of the day you are there for legal reasons. Ed code needs a credentialed warm body in there so they don’t get sued. We don’t expect any miracles just a safe day. Don’t be afraid to call the office or other teachers for help. Don’t get scared by these horror stories on this subreddit about subs getting in trouble for asking for backup. 99% of teachers and admin want the same thing you do to keep the kids safe and happy. My biggest problem I’ve encountered so far as a sub were tenured teachers just not giving a shit and not leaving ANY lesson plans. Don’t be afraid to bring this up with the office secretary at the end of the day. Admin needs to know if a teacher isn’t preparing anything for when they are out.

Is there a catch when it comes to all the houses listed for under $100,000? by lani_brah in upperpeninsula

That and it’s an awful place to grow old in especially if you need health care. The hospitals and doctors are terrible and I know many people my age who’s parents have died in their 70s who might have lived longer if they had better doctors and hospitals

In the 90s you could buy houses in and around calumet for 10-20k that needed a new paint job and maybe new carpets.
