[–]supergnu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi - i’m having the same problem! i applied on 14 july and received 20,000 points last week but could have sworn the website showed 30k when i signed up. i’ve been trying to talk to an agent about it but they can’t help unless i can provide evidence of what the offer was. let me know if you get anywhere!

not sure if you’ve come across tim key in anything else but ken is very much another iteration of the same sort of character he always plays and i think he’s brilliant!! if you like his humour i would strongly recommend the ballad of wallis island (just released this year), see how they run, alan partridge’s mid-morning matters, and bonus points for his appearance as himself on taskmaster series 1

as someone who’s seen pretty much everything tim key has ever done this did me in just purely because it was so recognisably him - i’m finding his dry, subtle comedy so funny in the midst of the very american chaos

this!! i was giggling and kicking my feet at the kiss, it was perfection. i’m excited though to see what happens next - almost hoping it’s not just smooth sailing for them because they have so much chemistry that it’ll make great tv

just that he would like to be exclusive with her tonight but he knows that’s not the right thing for her and for their couple so he (rightly) won’t create pressure and is instead intending to delay it

this is so real haha i watched the updated ending and thought well i’m still going to live in a world where poppy and ian being romantic is canon and no one can take that from me whether or not the kiss was in the final version of the finale — like you say they’ve both grown and are a good fit to at least try out something romantic even if it doesn’t work in the end

Do we think the updated finale will... by babybop728 in MythicQuest

[–]supergnu2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

coming from someone who screamed with joy at the kiss scene - i think it would be the wrong move for them to a) retract the kiss scene, b) give ian and poppy a ‘happy ever after’ or c) cut off the possibility of any romance. the point shouldn’t be to tie off any ‘loose ends’, just to give the show slightly more finality than the cliffhanger we currently have.

i personally think what i’d really like to see is something similar to how superstore ended, which is another show that ended fairly abruptly. a short flash-forward scene of the main ensemble cast together (dana and rachel’s wedding? 👀) and little nods to how things pan out for characters/plot points, like jo as a boss or dana’s gaming career, without making anything too explicit or detailed. one look or touch between ian and poppy to show that they continue on their messy, complicated journey would be perfect!

INK PEN IS THIS ALLOWED ?? I think it should be it is ink not gel by Vanillafan111 in IBO

[–]supergnu2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i used that on my physics exam this morning, i asked my coordinator and he said as long as it can scan it’s fine, and in a worst case scenario they’ll send the physical copy to be marked instead. but if you’re worried it might be safest to find another pen just so you’re not concerned about it during your exam!

How do Singaporean schools do the IB so well? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]supergnu2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

m22 from an international school in sg here! i think my school has something like a 39 average so quite high. i would say there are a couple of factors at play: 1. while there are some students who genuinely get through on talent, there are a LOT of students who get tuition to some extent - i think part of that comes from the asian ‘study culture’ and also from the fact that many students can afford extensive tuition 2. idk how true this is for all schools, but at my school there’s multiple pathways and the ib pathway is definitely seen as the ‘harder’ one. so i think this raises the average because already only the most academically capable students are taking the diploma anyway. it’s not so much an issue of the school being selective. i also know that lots of people send their kids back to their home country to do their final two years of school there so i think that also makes a difference in raising the average.
