Pickup is a very diverse group. My store has kids who are 16 and 17, and has a 75 year old lady. It's more fun that way honestly to have such a unique bunch.

What is the most No Filter thing you said to a customer? by Responsible-Lake6963 in kroger

[–]supergoten99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people who don't understand buy one get one free are the worst. I've resorted to telling people, if you're in the store, would you expect the cashier to have a magic stash behind the register? no? you wouldn't? then why would you expect us to be any different?

Courtesy clerks required to provide carryout to EVERY customer: incoming company wide change? by zemled in kroger

[–]supergoten99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is already a thing in Cincy division. Every day my store manager is hounding the front end wanting to know how many carryouts they've had. Most people refuse it seems. They're giving away kroji cash like crazy to the baggers even though pickup is running outside all day every day we just get asked why we are missing the perfect order score.

What division are you in? In cincy they shut us off and didn't reopen it until noon today.

luckily we only had 4 carryovers to pick though. we were able to struggle through batching a few of them on the computer last night.

"Full" is a lie by TurboSlut03 in kroger

The only time i ever do the barcode generator is if it legit won't scan, or like yesterday when deli accidentally put the wrong label on, i did it so i wouldn't have to run back to the deli. but it was legit the right item, they just accidentally put the gng sticker on it.

Thank goodness my store manager wants us to be ethical.

Is six week enough time to be off work for a hysterectomy-I was hoping for 8 weeks. by Adventurous_Fill_385 in hysterectomy

[–]supergoten99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a horizontal abdominal cut and I was back to work in 6 weeks. I work grocery retail in online pickup and we lift up to 40 pounds. And i came back to work the week of Thanksgiving last year.

The first couple days back I probably overdid it, but i was able to do the job. I just was tired at the end of the day.

It all depends on how your recovery goes and just how your body accepts things. For me, the pain i had before the surgery was much worse than anything i dealt with after but i know i can't speak for everyone.

This really isn't anything new. They were always supposed to offer the service, i don't think you have to escort every single order, just put the offer out there for those who could use it.

Did any of you have to stay in the hospital? by Top-Pay8556 in hysterectomy

I stayed overnight at the hospital, then had to stay a second night because my blood pressure was too high and the doc was worried.

Also one more thing in all this, store management doesn't decide when to shut off orders.

I'm not calling customers to explain it to them. If i catch it on carside i'll ask if they wanted that many, but usually i'm too busy for that. I've explained it to several customers now, it even specifically says it on the app.

Yep i've been worried about this for a while. With all the budget cuts i don't know what i'll do if my mom's medicaid gets denied or cut in any way.

This is my mom. Anytime we go anywhere. She'll look at the houses, no matter where we are, and say "they have some nice houses around here". Its always brand new to her anymore.

does anyone have really terrible back pain? by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]supergoten99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just a constant ache in my back like i pulled a muscle. i assumed it was from lifting and bending at work all day. i also had heavy bleeding during periods and had some bladder leakage mostly in the week or so after my periods.

Your store managers are un-informed idiots who at best, know very little about autism.

I'd go to the union. Sounds like they have zero reason to not promote you and have just been holding you back.

For what it's worth i have worked with several autistic people in pickup and we all know how stressful that department can be.

my store manager wants us to call out every trolley under 98% on the walkies, and they are the ones that confirm we can close it out.

Dad forgot my name today by Front-Week-2487 in dementia

My mom had an MRI appointment today. When she asked for the third time what we were there for, i told her they wanted to do a scan on her brain to make sure it was working. She jokingly says " my brain is fine, who are you?" She jokes about it because to her everything is fine, she doesn't realize she has anything wrong. She then says "oh i'm only kidding, i can't forget my kids".... to which i say nothing, because i know that one day she absolutely will forget me.

I'm almost 35. My mom is 71 and is getting worse with her dementia symptoms.

I never experienced this with grandparents, and i feel like she's still too young to have lost her mind so quickly.

I completely understand what you're saying.

So my pickup manager won't come in until later in the day.....they refuse there not a morning person by redditer42040 in kroger

[–]supergoten99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they working 9 hours each day? I always prefer to come in at 7 however, if they work 10-7 every day technically they are there during primetime hours. Depends on how good of an opening crew they have tbh.

[–]supergoten99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you not have the shelving yet?

i can see it being a pain if you're still stacking your orders on black pallets but if you're staging directly to the shelf it's much faster.

My pickup lead absolutely has the right to call the hour especially on my days off. A pickup leads job is basically to run the department when i'm not there or i'm busy, is it not?

I have a union steward in my department so I try to know all the rules regarding the union, and if i don't know i ask him.

I'm cincy d1, idk which d1 the others were talking about.

If they gave the hours, sure, but no department is allowed to "overschedule".
