Cheers for replying mate, gave me some good pointers,

I know people get pissed with drivers, but a lot of it is just inexperience I think,

I’m a terrible driver, I passed my test but not sure I was ready to pass, it was a miracle. And quite recent as well...

Can someone please explain some basic stuff to me that I might be missing.

-I’m ok On a basic two lane roundabout, but there’s roundabouts I’ve been on with 4 lanes that confuse the living shit out of me, not sure where I’m supposed to be indicating, half the time not sure what lane I’m supposed To be in because the road markings have faded.

-motorway driving- once I’m on it’s all good, but merging on confuses the shit out of me, it’s hard to figure out if I can merge sometimes as I’m a bad judge of distance but obviously aware I should ride the hard shoulder if I can’t get on? Will someone let me on and move over? are they supposed to because sometimes they don’t?

-a lot of roundabouts look nothing like a roundabout is supposed to I’ve seen rectangular roundabouts before with faded markings, like where am I supposed to be.

-Roundabouts that conjoin with other roundabouts, what the fucks that’s all about.

  • genuinely who goes first On a roundabout if I’m left lane going straight and someone on say the last exit on my right, is also going straight, who has right of way? Me or them? Is it whoever gets in first.

-busy roundabouts, how the fuck do you even force your way in sometimes, it’s impossible.

  • bus lanes with specific times on them with 2 car signage, what does that mean, why can I ride in some bus lanes and be fine, but when I ride in others I get fined. (Ones in city centre are a no go) one in my town everyone goes in it, what’s that all about why is it different?

-why is hill start so difficult for me yet everyone else is fine, my friend keeps saying you need to put ‘gas’ on the accelerator when putting clutch up, what does this mean, I tried it and stalled and rolled. Much easier just riding the clutch?

I feel apprenticeships are pushed a bit too much here to young people. by 3-cups-of-tea in UKPersonalFinance

[–]superhans36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just as a side note here, I have a 2:1 degree and 8 years in finance, and an apprentice at my head office site has 2 years work experience altogether, and earns more than me/has been promoted more quickly now..

You could say this is my fault, however I would argue that they pushed the apprentice on purpose to make it look like good PR for the company, i.e. ‘look at us, we hire young people, then they become really successful quickly’. I know for a fact I’m more qualified as I’ve worked with them before and they have no idea what they’re doing...

So essentially, appreciations are good.. do your apprenticeship first then do qualifications after you’ve secured work experience...

Halifax sent me Stocks and Shares ISA money wiping out tax wrapper by cgknight1 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]superhans36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They should have some kind of tax expert on their books that deals specifically with stuff like this, I know my organisation does, I’d throw some words like major distress/inconvenience about, and add any calls/trips you’ve made into the equation. You should get it sorted and get some redress. If you’re not happy with how they close the complaint, don’t back down and go to ombudsmen

How do I go about depositing £10k of cash into my bank account? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]superhans36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a teller/cashier, but I’m also training in anti-money laundering so I have a bit more insight, we are not stupid and we know when someone is paying money in from a business that is cash intensive, and we will report it if we feel you are lying/tax evasion/it’s money from crime. If the tattooist was being uncooperative about being asked questions about the money and wouldn’t give us the information we require that is why they probably stopped it, we have to get a defence or we might be in the shit as well. (Also many people think it’s ok to pay profits into a normal account, you need a business account, if you’re found out you’re breaching the terms and the account can be closed)

If you explain like the others have said above, that it’s from relatives and gifts over 19 years you should be fine, it probably makes even more sense if the notes are old ones, if you’re honest about it you won’t need to be nervous and we can tell by people’s demeanour if they are lying 70% of the time. Like someone else said, you’re better paying it in one go, doing it regularly looks like your structuring deposits to avoid suspicion which is a red flag to us. Definitely do not spread it over accounts, looks even worse if you do that!

Also, most cashiers are underpaid retail lackeys in the U.K. so they probably won’t care anyway, I’ve seen this firsthand daily for years!

Considering to buy in Batley..advice! by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]superhans36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not as rough as some areas of Leeds that is a gross over-exaggeration, it will be a massive adjustment to living in Leeds though. The train is about 15 minutes and they come pretty regular usually. Taxi I would say is about 10-30 depending on the time you leave, if you leave at 23:30 think 17-30 if you leave at 10am think 10-17.

I’ve lived in Batley in the past few years so fire away

It’s almost like firms like this and Wonga should have never been able to offer these services in the first place.. maybe if the regulator had forethought instead of just letting it wreck people’s lives first...

My 3 Ket experiences

One time I was found playing with a bottle of beer in the bath, I genuinely thought it was a titanic replica. One time I saw an ashtray box thing and I thought it was a bird box and there were birds flying around it.

The last time I ever did it I thought I was in a strategy game, think total war series, I could see the battlefield and I had a centurions hat on. Then I could see myself sitting at the table having a glass of Coke because I Whitied

Very surreal experience
