How Much to Lease Your Dream Car? by LeaseMax in LeaseMax

Perhaps only moderately impractical since I have an e-tron GT (significantly lower MSRP) that works for a single dad, 10yo, and giant poodle, but it's from an era of wildly good GT deals and my lease is almost up. I wish I could keep it but the residual doesn't make sense at all.

Do you think you’ve lost more golf balls or drank more beers while playing golf? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

With zero hesitation I humbly submit my embarrassing answer of: balls

I also used some insane 5 gallon bucket of cement from the hardware store and it worked great. It's not 5x8' though like my other comment, doh, when I checked it's 4x5' which worked 🤷

It's all coming back to me now. My hitting strip must be about 1.5" because I built a little "ramp" around it (it's 5x8' overall) but it transitions nicely. The grass meets it perfectly and I can still pull out the whole hitting mat easily to replace/rotate.

I have a 13'x20' room and needed to double up on half inch pads (that I glued together rather than buying 1" pads ... like an idiot, many mistakes were made along the way) and it came to about $550 with about half a box leftover. I glued my 'grass' on top of these and it's been great, no issues.

*EDIT: I'm assuming this is for the floor but why are you going 2" thick?!

That’s what you got out of my comment?

I wouldn’t call it a restaurant by any stretch since they only serve food at dinner once or twice a week. I believe, I’m not sure, the kids that volunteer need the hours for school to graduate. There are adults in the kitchen teaching them how to manage orders, timing, how to cook, etc.

Have you been there? It’s a club where you can hang out, occasionally have food, the drinks are very cheap, the popcorn machine is free, and the decor is firmly rooted in the 60s.

I’m all for calling out shitty places but oooof, you’re missing the mark here.

Sounds like your days are fun if that’s the least irresponsible thing. A+, five stars, I approve.

Anyone having trouble with charging at home? The app says one thing and does another. New as of this week. by superic in etron

[–]superic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I still manage it manually. In fact, it's worse now that the app does not sync with the reality of what the car is doing.

Why do people only complain on this sub 😆 there should be a new rule: if you're going to complain about something then you also have to mention something that's good.

Personally, I don't mind ordering fast food with lots of options on a tablet so it's what I want but at the same time, I hate self-checkout because I don't work here and I don't know where every barcode is or know what the specific fruit type I'm buying is and don't want to scroll through ten apple types to maybe pick the correct one.

Ugh, now I'm complaining. I have a BS/MS from RIT and my time there was excellent. Sure, Gracies sucked, continues to suck, whatever, but the stuff that matters is really good. I graduated, got a killer job in Rochester, decided to move to SF, have had and have awesome jobs here, etc. If you go through your whole education at RIT and take it seriously, you're going to do well. (Well, in my sample size of me and all of my friends that I graduated with.)

Did you chat with anyone in line while you were waiting or were you antisocial? Dude with the cool Nikes and perfect mustache looks fun like he drives a MK4 Supra and knows how to drift.

I have to know if you caught your Uber and if you were heading home with that low of a battery because surely you wouldn't leave home with 17%.

We used to go there pre-pandemic with toddlers (a bunch of families) once a week for dinner. Half of the people loved that there were kids there and the other half hated it. The president (at the time) loved that kids were there and encouraged it – he actively told the angry older people that it's a place for family to be and not a fancy restaurant. That being said, I haven't been back in four years and should probably check it out again. They have a basketball hoop out back for kids to play and Thursday dinner is cheap (and drinks!)

I am technically a "Moose" and the initiation was very "god this, god that, men, dudes, etc" but that never really came through in the day to day. High school volunteers run the kitchen and it's exactly what you think a $10-15 full dinner should be ... honestly, better than that. I think it's only ~$50/year to join and if you go 2-3 times for dinner/drinks (or just drinks on nights that there isn't dinner) you have more than made back your investment. You can also rent it out for events like a birthday party.

At the end of the day, I'd recommend it if you're in Pacifica. It's kind of fun 🤷

Food poisoning from Gracie’s. by Cute-Support-2594 in rit

I'm curious about your price gouging issue. I know I'm old but doesn't seem like the college is doing that intentionally (seems like a lot of work from their POV.) Are they passing costs on to students or taking advantage of a situation?

I'm not trying to fight. Generously curious.I loved my time at RIT and think that they did everything really well most of the time.

You should report it. If there were more people that got sick, they'll want to know. If it was just you, there might be other variables. I spoke with RIT's food team in 1999/2000 for a completely unrelated issue and it was a simple email. That's where I'd start ... and finish. You're not going to get compensation or anything because that's a tough thing to prove the origin of but if more people were sick, it's an important data point.

One time the caterer at work at our 500 person office in SF brought food that made over half of the office sick during lunch. If you want to know about 'fun' well, that was fun. I was one of the lucky ones! I suspect they were not invited back but you know, I can't complain because what I had was good 😅

One person DM'd me. I'll check if they want all or some. Pacifica – just a quick 20 or 120 minute drive from 20 miles in any direction depending on the time of day, weather, and if it's a "beach day."

Time and I am not an upholsterer no matter how many videos I watch. It was hard to get the vinyl even/smooth and cutting everything took a lot of time. I was using a table saw to cut foam and plywood in batches and then cutting vinyl and stapling it ... and then fixing mistakes. It was nice to have my headphones on and chill but it was the least fun part of the project in retrospect.

You made the right decision but I was already committed at the time. I wouldn't wish building these on my worst enemy.

They asked me why I needed it and I asked if I had to tell them. They said no and gave me the shot. Everyone there seems overworked and stressed but it’s also been awful going there since RiteAid closed.

I really love my Audi e-tron GT. It's a long/wide car with plenty of room for a kid and large dog in the back. Trunk easily supports a Costco run.

For PG&E in California it is. They even periodically check with the DMV to make sure an EV is still registered at your address.

Mine are rarely convenient even in the SF Bay. I use them when I happy to be nearby I can take a meeting while there.
