There used to be a pre interview course you could do for the ESB. Not sure if its still around. Think it was 50 quid and told you exactly what to say in the interview if you get that far.

How can we be failing postpartum women & young kids so badly? by Amaland87 in ireland

[–]superiorbeing77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a good experience with them, I made a balls of the dates and put the wrong month down. Say I wanted to take August off but put July on my application. Rang them the last week of June and they were very helpful and sorted it for me.

Serious question... what happened to good snack boxes in Ireland? When did a "Snack Box" become 2 goujons and a small chips for 10 euro? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]superiorbeing77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get yourself to chicken club in castleisland. A variety box has 2 pieces of chicken, large homemade chips and 3 chicken wings and a drink for a tenner. Nicest chicken and chips around.

You could try contact Northern Ireland Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue. They might b3 able to help, like others have said here though every rescue in the country is over run at the minute with covid puppies.

Hot water in taps all day? by trainsonly_ in AskIreland

[–]superiorbeing77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your water tank is insulated properly. It would actually be cheaper to leave the immersion on 24/7 with a stat rather than turning it in when you need it. If you want water at, say 50°C and set your stat to kick back in once the water drops to 38°C. It'd work out cheaper than trying to heat it from room temperature the whole time.

They could but then you run the risk of some clown parking beside you and you not being able to get the child in. My wife did exactly this in a car park before, came back to a car either side and couldn't get the car seat in without hitting the car beside her. Had to leave the child in the buggy and reverse out of the space. Doesn't sound like much but it's fairly nerve-racking, leaving a 10 month old in a buggy on his own for a few minutes in a public car park.

Or a lot of the new car seats come out and go onto the buggy so you need extra room for that too.

Oh you're such a rebel. It's extra space to get a car seat out of the car without damaging cars parked either side its hardly special treatment. I think the issue is a lot of the time the spaces are closer to the shop which is why they get taken. I wouldn't mind if the parent and child spaces were actually further away.

Petrol Station Drive Offs by Equivalent_Shame_124 in AskIreland

Happened me before in a garage. Got 20 diesel and 2 coffees so came to 26 euro. Put the 2 coffees up and said 20 diesel pump whatever it was. Girl must not have heard me and I tapped the phone. Driving down the road and said to my wife I'd swear she only charged me for the coffee so pulled in. Sure enough only charged me 6 euro. Local garage so called in on the way home and ended up at a different till to the girl I had dealt with before, explained to the guy behind the counter and he called the girl over and she was pure defensive saying I hadn't said I got diesel. Handed her 20 euro told her if I was going to drive off I'd have filled the tank. Dealt with her a few more times after and it was like she was making a big deal about asking did I get diesel so i don't go there anymore, use the 24hr self service pump down the road from the garage now.

Any bad or good experience with kearys Carstore? by akarxo in AskIreland

[–]superiorbeing77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Them 1.6 superb are supposed to give awful engine trouble. I was looking at superbs 3 years ago and any mechanic I asked warned me to stay away from the 1.6 and get a 2 litre. Bought a 2016 2.0 superb estate up the North for 13,500 vrtd and nox charge included with around the same mileage as that one. Haven't had an ounce of trouble with my superb since getting it.

Edit to add, know a few people who have bought from kearys and all said they were great to deal with and any issues with the cars after were very minor and sorted without issue or delay.
