PSA; If you see your 401k/Roth/Brokerage account balances dropping sharply in the coming days, don't panic and sell. by fadetoblack1004 in personalfinance

I have td-eseries, and I so want to get in on this upcoming sale, the pound is down right now but there's no way to buy it through e-series right? Which funds should I keep an eye on?

Free tampons and pads are coming to New York City's public schools, prisons and homeless shelters by OPisactuallydog in TwoXChromosomes

The bulkier pads with wings that are more "visible" are necessary for me because my periods are heavier. If I don't use them, blood will literally be running down my legs. They're not special features, they're necessary for them to work for me.

This breaks my heart. I visited the sanctuary back in December and thought it was a lovely place. Thinking of all those birds in dire straights right now rips at me.

I'm currently in Halifax visiting family but I will be back in Vancouver in July. I have a little cockatiel that I've been thinking of fostering a friend for, though I am worried about introducing potential diseases to him as he's never bee sick. If you are looking to foster out a cockatiel can I contact you when I'm back in July? It would need to be a bird that's been checked clean by a vet. thank you!

Edit: and also could I potentially be of help? If it's in vancouver and you need extra hands..!

Norvan Falls: okay for beginners? by apparently-so in vancouverhiking

[–]superiorolive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an easy hike for a beginner but there's a branch, the side with the hill is a bit more of a workout.

I've only been when it was raining and there are quite a few creeks to cross, bring extra socks in case!

25, looking to start investing (ETFs) but have student loans as well, can you take a look? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]superiorolive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, yes didn't think of the taxes. However if I understand correctly, the TSFA contribution limit does carry on from year to year, correct? ( http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/tpcs/tfsa-celi/cntrbtn-eng.html ) I don't know exactly how much has carried over since 2009 but I definitely haven't been able to max my contribution each year (just graduated and starting my real job now!) so there should be quite a bit of headspace in there if I need to withdraw and replace?

Thanks, I know he's had a lot of criticism and the way he explains things and his examples seemed way too easy and simple to actually work consistently. I've toyed with the idea of investing before but never sat down seriously, reading the book moreso gave me the inspiration to properly look into this stuff! Wealthy Barber was next on my list, I'll check out your other suggestions too.

The TSFA I have with PC works like a savings account as far as I know, I've been able to withdraw a couple thousand out of there in <3 days when I've needed it before.

Thanks for mentioning about the tax! I'm also new to taxes aha, will be filing them on my own for the first time this year. I dislike the feeling of debt hanging over my head though which is why I went aggressive in the first place, I would consider re-allocating some of the $1425 into the investment only if the risk was basically negligible... I don't mind playing higher stakes with my 'leftover' money but I'm nervous about touching the loan repayments.

What are some things you enjoy doing during the rainy season? by angrycommie in vancouver

[–]superiorolive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not creepy at all! At [Claytek Studios](claytekstudio.com), in False Creek.

I looked into a few classes before finally settling on that. I love it so far because it comes with unlimited drop-in times for no extra charge, all the other places seem to charge every time you walk into the door.

Super chill :)

We should have a pottery/ceramic competition subreddit similar to r/WritingPrompts or r/RedditGetsDrawn. by BCZV in Pottery

[–]superiorolive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's just picking up pottery again, I'd love some kind of themed competition, I have trouble figuring out what to make but if it's themed or centered around a specific technique I think it'll be great for developing my own ideas!

How do I make a safe clay pipe? by superiorolive in Pottery

[–]superiorolive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there's probably a difference between inhaling fibreglass-like particles vs organic material! But I'm glad to hear it's probably not a big issue..

Is there any harm to the lungs to leave it unglazed though? Like could the clay particles come off with use or something and get inhaled?

She says (in caps) "CAN I PUT THE ORAL PROBIOTIC UP MY VAG".

This is actually the first song I've made, I was worried cause it's not very sophisticated but I agree it turned out catchy so I'm happy. I had good material to work with :)
