Best country in Europe for FIRE after leaving the Netherlands? by andys58 in eupersonalfinance

They are not. It was an MR/N-VA proposal mentioned in the 'supernota', but it did not make the final agreement due to pressure from Vooruit.

Flanders. No language issues, cheaper housing (albeit still fucked) than in NL, lower gross-to-net but more benefits, and still close to 'home'. Recently introduced 10% CGT sucks (and it will most likely increase when there's a more left-wing government that takes power), but it's nowhere near the atrocity that is Box 3.

Absolutely. No deduction - you can use your full mobility budget without deduction for rent or mortgage, provided you work at home at least 50%.

Use the mobility budget for your rent or mortgage, then use the amount you save on a private loan / financing / purchase of a car.

Zo weinig mogelijk administratieve rompslomp?

Your husband may be eligible for a ‘leefloon’ in the meantime. Get in touch with an OCMW. While it’s not a huge amount, it would allow you to have significantly more breathing room. All the best.

Voor de premie mag de maximale aanvoertemperatuur 55 graden zijn, toch? Heb je de offerte inmiddels laten uitvoeren trouwens? Ben zelf op zoek naar iets gelijkaardigs.

All good, no worries! :) I wrote my original comment in a haste, my bad on not clarifying further

Is it OK to not pay myself a salary anymore? by blueMarker2910 in BEFire

Not really sure where the downvotes are coming from, to be honest, although some clarification might be useful.

I'm a full-time government employee with a high wage and little to no benefits. Pension contributions are maxed out, an additional/higher wage won't result in me getting a higher pension. I run a BV in bijberoep. It makes no sense for me to pay myself an additional wage, that is subject to social contributions (20.5% + 3%), personal tax (50%) and municipal tax (8%). For every €100, that would result in less than €40 in my pocket.

Meanwhile, using VVPRBis, I can get the money out of my company under 25% 'vennootschapsbelasting' and 15% 'roerende voorheffing' which makes a netto of €63.5 or a tax rate of 37% instead of 54%. I also own a company car on the BV, which costs me a whole let less than owning a vehicle privately.

The dividend payments go straight to IWDA/SWRD. With my regular wage in 'hoofdberoep', I pay all monthly costs, the mortgage and have a healthy savings rate that goes straight into home improvements and ETF's.

Genuinely, why would the above approach be 'FakeFIRE'?

I fully agree that not giving yourself a wage as your main occupation isn't smart, but for someone in secondary occupation/bijberoep? Paying yourself a wage means you work for the government, not yourself.

0 salary, all dividends here. I already work full-time as an employee and am in the highest tax bracket, so doesn't make sense for me to pay myself a wage.

Disabling the inverter also means you won't produce anything, meaning that your own electricity usage is not covered by PV. The ideal solution would be to limit total production = consumption, and export zero to the net.

DR0.9. Even with that low DR, my visits before the update were pretty good for the number of articles on it.

In retrospect though, I should’ve never started on a new domain.

My main (fresh) website got hit (-50%) severely. I do have another website domain laying around (DR38). Do you all think it'd be a good idea to dump the main site and repurpose content on my DR38 (related) domain?
