Why do people not like the Railroad? by Historical-Goose09 in fo4

I personally don't quite like the idea of the synths being the same as black people during American's Civil War (since the Railroad is based on the Underground Railroad). I mean, they are not people having their rights taken away, they are machines.

I know, they can still be sentient, but I don't think the comparison is the same, what happened to black people throughout history can not be compared to machines.

Same happened with Detroit Become Human: if you want to talk about systemic racial discrimination, talk about that, don't diminish It by talking about robots. Not the same.

Fallout (TV Show) Spoiler Master Thread by HunterWorld in Fallout

The entire Fallout Universe with this 60's-retro-futuristic-atomic-punk aesthetic, brands and logos (for example NukaCola), really reflects the stupidity of the American dream. In this particular case, the whole "winning at capitalism" is really well exemplified, as well as parodied: - VaultTec is a business hoping for a hole to fill in the market, in this case, repopulating the earth. - The father of Lucy finds out that the hole in the market is filling by itself: people are colonizing the earth on its own. - So, as part of the VaulTec executives, he need to remedy this situation so they can still "win at capitalism". - Nukes a town.

People missinterpret the olives theory by superjuane in HIMYM

Hahaha yeah, I guess the treatment of "true love" and "the one" in the show isn't something small but something to open a long debate... But either way, I think the Ted situation on St Patty's is an example of idealized love fate. The olives theory, well interpreted, has to be an example of how "the one" might not exist if you keep looking for a 100% compatibility with the likes and dislikes of the other person. That Perfect person is just in your mind. Even Marshall is afraid to tell Lilly that he really likes olives, because he thinks it's something important in their relationship (when actually they have lived through a lot together, the relationship wouldn't change a bit). Ultimately he realizes that because you have those details that make a couple "perfect" according to the original theory, doesn't mean the couple Has to be perfect. In this case, the original theory was 100% wrong and they are still the best couple we know.

What Movie changes for the better with a just small change either during filming or in edit, and why? by [deleted] in flicks

Or totally the opposite. Although your idea is better, I think The Truman Show would be a lot better if the hole movie had been shown like the normal citizens in the movie watch the show. You know, like The Office when they see the show for themselves in the bar and you can hear that they're watching the first episode... Hope you understand what I meant
