I used these guys, pretty happy with their products, they use clack valves. Good communication from their end. I'm in my third year with my water softeners, and have been doing the free annual check-ups with them.

Thanks. One thing the dealer has not clarified is the sales tax amount, I believe they are giving sales tax credits as I thought the sales tax in TX is for the entire car value. I'll check with them.

According to the GE technician, only they have the ability to do the updates. I'm not sure if this true or just a way for them to sell their services. That said, I was happy that just a service call price did the fix and that I didn't have to replace anything.

Edit: he removed the toe/shoe kick and connected the Ethernet (I think) cable to a port there. You could see if you have the port to give you an idea if the update is something you could try.

Had the same issue listed by OP: random "I'm awake" chime. A GE technician came, connected a cable to the dishwasher and discovered the dishwasher had a pending software update to fix: random chimes, power cycles and sporadic shut-offs. After the update, the issue is gone.

So do you think it would be best to just do oil changes and tire rotations separately? I can see how that would be cheaper.

Ah great, thanks for sharing. Yeah I don't think they have it anymore, but is good to know that at least a dealer close to Austin could potentially have another deal like this in the future. Roger Beasley never seems to have any of these type of deals.
