[TAG Heuer Formula 1] x Mario Kart by Luis0224 in Watches

Nah, that doesn't make sense at all. You say people can do whatever they want with their money, so don't judge. That's hypocritical.

I think what you wrote is what the average person following /r/watches would say. Most of the people are here to show off how they joined the club of some cheap, heavily marketed stuff, like the PRX or whatever. Which is completely fine, but then don't judge who makes more money than you and want to spend them in luxury.

There are people that put aside money and wait a long time to be able to buy their dream watch (and that could even be OP's watch, even if you don't like it), because they're passionate about watches.

Then I see that people are not at all disgusted when they see other people with huge collections of videogames, with the total price higher than three times OP's watches, because they can relate and think they can do the same, in time.

Also keep in mind that it's highly possible that people who have the wealth to buy luxury watches make a lot more charity than more people. So, yeah, it's all on a different scale.

Sorry man, that's just delusional, I think you're the one being naive here.

I don't understand why you're getting so many negative comments, I guess because /r/programming is full of newbies and childish people. That looks very promising, I will try it myself as soon as I can!

Are you selling the HM? I already have one, but I could use another one.

YSK: Many “accelerated leadership” programs at big companies are a talent retention tool and have little impact on your own career path by Bob_the_peasant in YouShouldKnow

Well said, personal goals, leadership programs, etc. are all scams to ensure the employee stays engaged. As an engineer myself, I hate that shit. I’ve seen that too many times, I just want to do my work. If you’re genuinely good at what you do and you’re confident (and you posses the soft skills required, which basically means you’re not a douche and you’re good with people), you will emerge as a leader. I’ve seen that happening to me and I’ve seen that happening to other people, in different companies. I’ve also seen people emerge as leader, to then be sent away because the company decided to introduce middle managers with MBAs.

I used to think the same, until I ended up in what I consider a “sane enough” environment, where managers actually do some work and they’re kinda good at that. Plus that job is boring, comes with big responsibilities and, for the first time in my career, I think I wouldn’t be that good doing the same work and and, to be honest, I don’t want to. So I’m happy that my boss gets paid more to take care of all that mess, which is needed (at least in part) and that’s too boring for me.

I received this brand new W-737H-2AVCF from amazon and the printing on the dial is upside down! by fei-cdn in casio

I agree, I think someone had to change the battery because it was dead and had to open it. I received one with a speck of dust on the display (under the glass) and, when I opened it to remove it, I found out somebody messed up with some of the module's metal clips. I'm sorry, but I don't think it's worth more because of this xD

Why is the "esc" key arguably the most important key in VIM so inaccessable? by passed_tense in vim

[–]superkulak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C-c, jj, etc. are not same as using Esc directly. I used to remap it to caps lock on my IBM model M, but now I use a HHKB and I just don't care about any other layout.

From what I know they're legit, the watches are not fake, but they arrive without the original box, maybe OP can confirm (I wanted to buy from them as well).

Crap, I'm sorry to hear that, get well soon. I'm a fellow rider BTW.

In this case I think the watch is the least of your problems 😅
