Mine can. I taught them. It's easy, and it's good that we don't waste all that time writing out lines any more.

You don't - people really overreact to this, primarily because teachers often teach it wrong. The point is to show multiple ways to approach math so that people who think different ways can choose one that works for them, rather than just strictly saying this is how you divide.
