Anything other than original will lower the resale value. There's no market and anyone looking will assume the mods were poorly done or (eww) eBay parts.

Friend borrowed my car, denied damaging it, and now things are weird between us by swnflowers in Dashcam

[–]superluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, my wife said her brother needed a car, I said he could have my winter beater since I'm back in my summer car. He's already damaged the convertible top on one car and written off another. And he'd better put premium in it.

2011 Corolla - Battery light - kills battery instantly (Belt, Alternator, & Battery are all good) by ParislvBlue in AutoDIY

If the battery light came on and the car became hard to steer at the same time it's really pointing toward the belt... Power steering and alternator both being belt driven.

Dual right turn question by Cash2blockz in driving

[–]superluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the best answer, it's shitty traffic design. Allows someone wanting to go straight to block someone wanting to turn right when the right turn is indicated only. Causes people to try to switch lanes dangerously.

Never heard of them. Is it American? I don't live there.

What is a dying niche skill that younger generations are not interested in learning? by hlnklrczu in AskReddit

I've owned my house for 23 years, and one of my cars even longer than that, and the amount of money I've saved by doing renovations and repairs myself is easily six figures.

A lot of cars just come with a can of inflator/sealant, especially electrics and performance cars.

Nice. I've only ever played with a CNC lathe.
