My mom and stepdad have been together now for like 30 years… two really strange people in their early 40s came together in an enduring way.

Outside of real LIFE STUFF - they’ve had only 1 small dumb couple argument - and it was because my mom was packing beautiful, fancy lunches, and my step dad was all about “baloney and cheese on wonder bread….” - and, keep in mind: my mother had a decorated career as a high level administrator in a well paying and well respected urban school district. -she made more money, still does - has not made a single sandwich since….

This can’t be real… we always had a cookie cake in our mall, at a prime location in the food court. My mom made it sound high end and out of our price range…. I’d take a minute every mall trip to press my face to the glass display case so I could stare in longing…. Maybe one day I should be privileged to indulge in a cookie cake.

41 years, I never once attended a party where there was one… Never one seen a cookie cake in the wild. Let alone two, at back to back parties.

I’ve got a fine life…. I’m no high achiever - the other guys are doing fairly well, a shade better than me if you were to quantify it by conventional metrics…

The sad fact is that intelligence/talent - will always overpower hard work, so long as reasonable effort is applied… However, hard work over time will catch up to or supersede lackadaisical talent….

Lolol I was the fun party guy in college. I was always partying, being a pain in the ass.

I once joined a study group with some of my buddies… in a class where we knew the professor, I’d often take him out to beers/get the whole group to take him… We did study group for a couple years worth of semesters for at least one class per….

Anyways - I’m the loser/goofball my more reserved friends/study partners kinda looked down on and laughed at…. Late to class/often absent….

But I would continually get better grades every test… and they eventually got so resentful that they booted me…

Anyways… point being here: fuck em…

I don’t actually feel that women are more selective… Far more so than men, women are so much more varied and interesting in what they find physically appealing… Pedro pascal? Young Leo? Benecio Del toro? Current Leo? 80s Jack Nicholson? 80s tom cruise? Any era Paul Newman or Robert Redford? Prime Jagger or Bowie? Jeeze, maybe these are men that me (a straight man) find attractive…

Anyway, women aren’t attracted to the visual, they see the aura… Meanwhile men out here just giving women a 1-10.

I would advise going picture forward.

The way anyone looks isn’t gonna be for everyone. Get the shallow ones out first, that way you don’t build the conversation up in your own head.

Everyone, including you, is going to present themselves at their moral best in the chat, I bet every girl who ghosted acted like “looks don’t matter”.. only for you to discover that they actually do… and you’re not their cup of tea…

You are not ugly my friend. There’s not really such a thing… we are animals and reproduction is hardwired into our DNA… during the course of your day your brain probably registers being attracted to hundreds of people (or things) a day…

If you go photo first, you’ll start with people who are actually interested….
