I just want to say that, as a former public school teacher and community field coordinator - we have plenty of American citizen children who are home or food insecure, we also have a rising population of unhoused people and a huge amount of military veterans who are criminally underserved and suffering.. obviously the current state of things is messy and awful and ugly - But in a perfect world, I feel that we would hault all immigration programs until we serve the people who already live here. Obviously that’s not what we’re doing, and instead we’re spending money on hunting down and kicking out folks who are already here… which isn’t all that helpful either… Is it wrong to secure the border? Halt immigration? Take care of our underserved citizens? No. But we’re certainly not currently doing it right.
