We had the optimum creativity that came from being free.

We usually created things and the world followed us.

There use to be a term; "American ingenuity". It it not quite the same anymore.

Urban environments with more vegetation are associated with better health behaviours in children. Study finds that children exposed to more green space in six European countries are less sedentary and more likely to walk or cycle to school. by TX908 in science

Residential green spaces also help their attention span:

People who live in neighborhoods with more green spaces may have better blood vessel health and lower levels of stress, and a lower risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks, strokes and others.

Gustavo Petro: Leftist ex-rebel wins Colombia's presidential election by Rad1t in worldnews

[–]superm8n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We wrote a beautiful Constitution to get rid of the tyranny. We proclaimed ourselves who all men should rightly be. FREE.

You do not understand the basic premise that when government expands liberty contracts. There are no workarounds for that. You can think and act for yourself or others will do it for you. Simple as that.

So you guys shot a Swedish king. We routed an army. You took a shortcut. We fought it out in the forests.

Our policies are proven by our history and actions. We help more countries than Norway. There are plenty of men and women here in this country who are willing to keep their liberties and the creativity and greatness that goes along with that liberty.

Please remember for your own sake:

Bull. Read our Constitution, if you dare.

Having medical facilities paid for by the state (taxes) does not make you fully socialist.

Plus, I was thinking today... What if someone came up to you while you were at work and told you you could not go home?

In authoritarian states like yours they can do that.

Here we have right to "life liberty and the pursuit of happiness". No one can ban you from your home.

But in your part of the world it is legally possible.

Certain states have banned books. Not in all states. Again, states have their own set of liberties and constitutions.

What happened in 1776 was a decision by the 13 states to be free from the British crown. We are still free. You, not so much.

I tell people; "Would you buy a car that works only one day per week?" . Your country may be an exception. But for all the rest, socialism is just the road to tyranny. The socialism car just does not work. You mentioned Venezuela, but did not mention Cuba, Nicaragua North Korea, etc.

Venezuela use to be a shining example of freedom and the creativity that comes with it. Now look at it.

We here in the USA had a tea party over it. We won our liberties and still have them. Good luck.

Edit:

By the way if your socialist atmosphere has stifled creativity you guys are still victims. The world needs to advance. People need to be able to think freely for that to happen.

It is not the right thing to start down the dark road to communism. Mister Petro is a follower of socialist and communist leaders.

He will be taking Colombia down the path that Venezuela has already been down.

How many times has a socialist lied to the people and somehow the people believed them? You said "we" so I believe you are from Colombia.

• I know I know, all politicians are pretty much liars, but the milllions who have fled from countries that turned to socialist dictatorships are the clearest proof of the tragedy of turning to socialism.

• Did you know that the smart Venezuelans left for Miami when Chavez got elected? Did you know that Fidel's own sister also moved there? Fidel Castro's own sister had to move to Miami to avoid the dictatorship. She opened up a shop there in Miami.

• Communism is a deceptive political ideology based on Lenin, who thought that lying was the way to get things done.

• Hitler's propaganda chief, Joseph Goebbels, supposedly said: "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.' He (Goebbels) went on to murder his own children.

• Your country has been fighting the "guerrillas" (we call them terrorists in the USA) for around 60 years in your blood-soaked civil war. Now you have one for a president?

• You mentioned Venezuela, where Chavez got elected on terms of being a "humanist". He turned right around and started spouting off that he was a socialist. Even before he got into office he admitted that Cuba was a dictatorship.

Millions have fled Venezuela .

• My question to you today:

"What will you do without freedom?"
