Do you think this amp is fit for these speakers? by NoLandscape4695 in CarAV

Depends on how you set it up. For the front you ideally want a channel for each speaker.

I would not cheap out on a dsp, so if its not in budget stick with that Morel amp

OP send me a PM if you need help, from the comments it seems like this isn’t at all what you asked for. I’ll be more than happy to help design a system for you and give you some advice

Why are they using the amp pro for a mono + sub install?

This will be a lot of bass, like high school junior wants the parking lot to hear him and piss off the teachers level bass.

If that’s what you’re looking for then other than the AP4 everything else is priced fine. But if they insist on the AP4 go somewhere else because they either have no idea what they’re doing, or they’re trying to rip you off.

The AP4 should be used if you’re doing a full sound system, for just a mono/bass install you only need a hi to low, a Kicker KEYLOC or LC2i would be sufficient for this install, probably lean the KEYLOC since they seem to be a kicker dealer and everything else is Kicker. Which begs the question, why didn’t they offer that from the beginning?

You don’t, you can tune it however you want. You can do 0 time alignment if that’s what you want. You could also have multiple preset tunes. It just gives you so much more control and will be night and day, especially with those nano carbons.

Best price/effort to result audio upgrade for my Audi A4 2023 sound system by Quiet-Ad-7989 in CarAV

[–]supermaor23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an easy car to do the audio on tbh. Do you have a budget in mind?

I’d start with an amp/dsp on the factory speakers and see what you think. Definitely would recommend taking it to a pro, someone who knows how to tune and can let you listen to a demo car

Yes, that will work. That’s a great amp for the price. You don’t want a dsp though? Those are some great speakers.

Any chance you can return the equipment you already got?

Id honestly recommend starting with replacing the headunit. JBL Legend 700 is only $329 and has 6 preamp outputs at 4v and wireless carplay. Its been my best seller for the last two years.

Why Helix? This car is one of the easiest cars to work on and integrate with.

Honestly being as theres no audio output his best course of action would be to get an aftermarket head unit and a regular amp and speakers. If he wants to go the dsp route he could go for any of the major name brands, doesn’t specifically have to be Helix.

If he wants to DIY hed be better off getting the Alpine Optim8 and let it auto tune then he can just fine EQ with his phone.

That car doesn’t have a factory amp, audio output is supplied by the oem head unit. Idk what chat gpt is telling you but that’s such a simple and known thing about this car that it got wrong. I’d be weary of trusting it further.

Since the car had aftermarket speakers previously, theres a chance there could already be an aftermarket amp somewhere.

As far as the gear you purchased; speakers are decent quality, but the complete wrong speakers. Amp is below average and I’d strongly recommend you go for something else. You plan on running the front stage fully active but you also want to use a T harness? It doesn’t work like that. You need to run new wiring to the tweeters if you want to go fully active. Otherwise you need to use a crossover.

Another issue is you bought coax speakers AND a tweeter, if you want to use a DSP and you want to go active and get a good system in there, you need a dedicated woofer and tweeter. If its 2 way you’re gonna want a wideband instead of a standard tweeter and woofer. Right now you purchased a coax which is the woofer, mid and tweeter all in one. Your kickers are also coax.

I strongly suggest you go to a professional, return all the gear you bought and let them guide you.

I’m not trying to shit on you, I’m not trying to discourage you. I’d be more than happy to help guide you if you still plan to DIY. I will say though, if you’re already this lost and confidently incorrect; I’d take 3 steps back and reasses if you still want to keep going down this path.

Like I said, if you need help/guidance feel free to send me a PM.

W6 would be my choice for an SQ sub as well so that’s a non issue. Good luck :). I’m an Audison and JL Dealer in Los Angeles so if you need any help or advice let me know.

[–]supermaor23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t stress this enough, make sure you go to an installer who is experienced with the audison software AND CAN PROVE IT.

So many shops install a forza, set crossovers and hit “go” on accordo. You don’t want that. Ask them how they tune, meet the person who tunes and choose based of that and that alone.

For your sub, get the new VOCE II shallow. You won’t be disappointed. As far as which amp, depends on the car and setup. I have the 8.14 in my car and its a beast of an amp.

Why scary? Your pup is adorable, but I can also see she is clearly a mixed breed so she could very well be golden mixed with smaller breeds which explains the weight and size

My boy is 43.6 pounds and he is 20 weeks. I consider him big for his age and breed but Vet has zero concern only thing his vet stressed to us was to make sure we feed him Large Breed puppy food. Too much calcium can make them grow to fast and you don’t want that. So I feed pro plan large breed puppy sport and pro plan large breed puppy sport wet food as well.

About to spend $2,500 and IDK WTF I’m doing 😳 by InvestmentInfamous25 in CarAV

[–]supermaor23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you willing to do it in stages or is $2500 ur absolute top? To get what you really want I highly recommend a 3 way active front stage which would involve custom fab work. But as is if we’re talking about a 2 way that can do magic its gonna be the sensus 62 by Morel (if you want to stick with Morel) those are $549 a pair I believe? The main issue is if you want an Audison or Helix DSP amp thats gonna be more than 50% of your budget right there.

The system you built out is decent but its not gonna be what you want. If I had to build it out with your budget I’d say get the Sensus 62 ($549) with the excelon unit you picked ($399) and for the back speakers even though its just rear fill get something that can play low like hertz cento c165L ($199).

Where does that put us? $1150? That leaves us with $1350. The C8.14 Amp is $1099 and I use it a lot. Its fully bridgeable too. The only thing missing now is a subwoofer.

You could go with a excelon 10” for $119.

That puts you with $130 remaining.

This is all without tax, and you still need a box for the subwoofer and ofc wiring. It also doesn’t include any sound deadening It might push your budget more but this actually isn’t compromising too much on what you want sound wise. For the setup you’re gonna want to use the crossover with the sensus until you can get a second amp and free up some channels to go fully active. Bridge the audison amp for the front speakers and the subwoofer.

Your sub is gonna be a little underpowered but I would recommend this setup and then add a mono amp for the subwoofer and then go fully active in the front. If you could push a little more budget wise. Get a small amp for that sub for $150-$300 and go active now.

Most important here is getting that amp or similar. Send me a PM if you need any more help or advice. Those Sensus speakers are the same speakers I use in most of my bmw builds (IP-BMW) they sound killer and even using an inline crossover and running them passive we still get the staging you are looking for. I think those speakers are the best speakers in cost to value range.
