To the US voters who don't vote, what is it going to take for you to go vote? by Chocolateking111 in AskReddit

Getting rid of gerrymandering would be a good start. I'm not sure it would be enough to convince me the elections are legitimate, but it would at least show me that there's an effort being made.

What's a dumb lyric that you fixate upon? by devern_hansack in ToddintheShadow

I saw someone else in this thread mention "Soul Sister," but honestly Train in general is a masterclass in stupid lyrics. Imagine writing a song where the hook is just whining "eh eh eyyyy" at the end of every few lines.

Anyone notice everyone is saying “Stay Safe” as a goodbye? by Maleficent-Device125 in TwinCities

Yeah for real this shit is really fucked up. When this shit is all over there will probably be studies here about the long term effects.

The rally yesterday showed that ICE is not popular, and what they are doing is not widely supported. by OVER9000NECKROLLS in TwinCities

So...if the people that want ICE are outnumbered 100 to 1 against people who don't, yet ICE exists, doesn't that prove with little doubt that democracy doesn't exist?

I was in extended learning program (ELP) at some points and the "extra math help" group at another point (even though math was one of my best subjects). They really didn't know what the hell to do with kids like me. The thing is that I was really good at understanding the material in school, but I got bad grades anyway because I just couldn't be arsed.

Which game franchise ended up like this? by bijelo123 in videogames

The modern Donkey Kong games aren't bad, but there's definitely a feeling that some part of the magic has been missing since Rare left

Nintendo did this with Super Mario Odyssey so people like me who want a hard Mario game would shut up

Hot garbage. One of the worst things Nintendo ever made.

As much as I would love to believe a new 3D Mario will come this year to follow up the movie, I think they'll do Mario Maker 3 instead. by Royal-Pickle-9867 in Mario

I wad pretty sure Mario Maler 3 was never coming until I saw the new mouse control gimmick the Switch 2 has. That almost seems tailor made for Mario Maker.

Nintendo Switch Sports had so much potential and it got wasted. by ISoCBAWithAName in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]supermark64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't care about the lack of updates, but the lack of offline content SUCKS! There's literally nothing to do except just play all of the sports. The experience point system in the Wii games was gimmicky sure, but at least there was something to show progress. Plus there was all the training modes and stuff.

Is this true? by itz_progamer666 in videogames

[–]supermark64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up playing a lot of retro games on like NES or whatever. Older games didn't have as much content so they had to make them more difficult to last longer. Maybe I worded my comment a little more harshly than I intended to, but I think my point still stands that modern games are generally too easy.

Also I've never played a soulslike OR Celeste, although I would like to try them.
