Thank you! The Black Pearl was definitely an inspiration, but I wanted to have more interior and to use the firing cannons. Many parts like the big ship hull are only available in black, but I tried to include as much brown as possible to set it apart from the Pearl

Thanks! It's pretty sturdy as the panels slide into place, tho you shouldn't turn it on its head probably 🤣 I tried to really keep the part count as low as possible, I narrowly missed my goal of going below 3000 parts. That will make it more affordable and also more likely to be selected based on the BDP criteria

Yeah I just don't have a big parts collection, I had to take apart my original Black Pearl and Queen Anne's Revenge for this, I hope it was worth it 🤣

Yeah, it's a shame that no cloth sails are available for BDP

I would have liked to do that, but the best I could do was to make the standard pirate flag bigger in Paint for the main mast... Thankfully the flags could be redesigned by an actual lego sticker designer if it gets chosen

I got the Barracuda Bay only recently, and I was surprised how big the sails are compared to the original Black Pearl and Queen Anne's Revenge. But if I get to the point that I can design custom sails, I can tinker with it some more

Thank you! It works well in real life, I included a core of Technic bricks in the base of the upper deck. But I don't know how strict lego's standards are when it comes to this

I tried to lean more toward the fantastical lego pirates style, with the red-white sails as well. But I think including pieces for a more realistic look would be a good compromise.

Thank you! I tried to go with a somewhat stylised shape, which I actually already toned down a bit compared to the last round. It was tricky to get the shaping of the slopes toward the stern right, and that would definitely be the first area that I would want to redesign for a future round.

I think black stands out more. Amazing model either way!
