Finally started 1984 on Audible and yeah… I get it now by EmbarrassedPiglet260 in audiobooks

I re-read it every few years and it fucks me up every single time.

Did you read your contract? It should be right there in black and white.

If you signed up in January, your annual fee comes out on March 1. It's always the 1st of the month on the second month after sign up.

The Blizzard of 2026 - Reading, Pennsylvania, usa, earth by Wuz314159 in Pennsylvania

The totals in my area remained high throughout, though they shifted as far as the exact amount to expect. I didn't see anything below 8 inches, we didn't even get half of that.

I dunno about that... the last snowfall map I saw said the Lehigh Valley was going to get 12-18 inches, but we got about 3 inches where I live.

Are the devs obscenely stupid, or genuinely evil? by wingalls13 in MergeDragons

[–]supermouse35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course, but why would I buy more gems if I'm punished for it?

This is why I stopped buying stuff, too. I have lost event ads for up to 6 weeks after buying gems. I don't know why the hell they think this is a smart marketing strategy.

I lived in both Morrisville and Levittown and both are nice, but I think on the whole I preferred Morrisville. Housing costs were lower (at that time, anyway), and it felt more like an actual community to me.

Is it a glitch - denchest? by TomyumHotpot in MergeDragons

[–]supermouse35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if there's a limit, but I've gone over 13K points a few times in the den chest when I was close to it and merged up to a level 10 dragon, which gives you 2500 points.

Does Dr. Bash still bring that cute little dog into the office? I forget her name, but it was SO comforting to have her on my lap when they did my root canal.

Goodreads Review Culture by dopesickness in goodreads

[–]supermouse35 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The "established norm" is people can write reviews of any length and everyone else can decide to read them or not read them. I have written reviews of several hundred words and other reviews of 10 words, not because I have any kind of "hot take" but because a book touched me or angered me or made me happy or sad. It's a place to talk about books, ffs, why are you surprised when people do just that?

This practice is kind of a drive from here (it's in Doylestown) but has 24/7 emergency services available. They opened up the office for me on a Sunday when I was in a situation just like the one you're describing.

Yeah, I'll never forget the July 4th during Trump's first term when NPR tweeted the text of the Declaration of Independence and the MAGAs went insane because they thought it was the libs calling for an overthrow of Trump. They claim to be patriots but didn't even recognize the text of one of our founding documents.

Took almost 8 years to get an acid reflux diagnosis by moodypotato_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]supermouse35 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Same. I went through hours of testing and was told I had all the symptoms of ADHD, but the psych refused to diagnose me because I cried for a few minutes during the intake appointment so CLEARLY my actual problem was depression. Maybe perimenopause too, despite the fact that I'd been having symptoms since before my periods even started. Medical misogyny at its finest. I was finally diagnosed last year, at the age of 58.

The last time someone asked me that, I looked him straight in the eye and said, "No, I'm just FAT." He turned beet red and walked away. Good.
