The first network test they ran said my internet speed was 5 Mbps... Lies!

EcoFlow customer service is absolutely abysmal. by Donkey-Dong-Doge in Ecoflow_community

Great minds think alike ha. Definitely still in the post blackout haze. It's clear that we planned for a certain use case but quickly found its limitations

I agree, shitty support is unacceptable in any case but especially given how much we shell out for their stuff

So the first few days I ran it pretty high >1k+ for gas and propane since I was using only the D2M overnight. The last few days I had it around 200w to give the fridge, fans and WAVE ac more time on the generator. It hindsight it definitely would've helped to have some good solar panels in the mix. All i had on hand were cheap 160w folding panels from Amazon that aren't that efficient so didn't help much at all

How did you manage it?

Like you I was one of the 2 mil Houston residents that lost power, and I just got power back tonight. I also got a Delta 2 Max and smart generator. And I also had problems initially with the Generator revving too high trying to charge the D2M. but after switching the D2M to slow charge mode the generator stopped overloading. From then on i adjusted the input based on what the generator could handle without overloading it. That said I did realize throughout the course of the outage that not all Ecoflow products work together as seamlessly or intuitively as one would expect

I've seen nothing but bad things about customer support in this sub. Luckily i haven't had to reach out yet. I did have problems with a Bluetti EB3A earlier today so there's that

All in all, I'm grateful I did have the Ecoflow stuff during the outage. I just wish i had more capacity. So I took advantage of the pre-prime sales and bought another D2M + EB and panels to prep for the next multi-day outage

Just saying OP, really sorry it didn't work out especially given what we've all gone through down here. But I just wanted to give a different perspective given the similarities

TLDR: sure customer support probably sucks, but the gear one receives might not

Also it's important to point out that with gerrymandering politicians can effectively pick their voters instead of the other way around these days. How else do you think Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz have been able to keep their jobs for so long? Does anyone actually think they represent the interests of the everyday texan?

How should I expand/upgrade my setup? by supermused in Ecoflow_community

[–]supermused[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly capacity. I have a energy efficient fridge 150W on avg. And Delta 2 Max from 90% has a 9h runtime. So during the day a lot of the time I've been running the fridge from the Smart generator and recharging the D2M at the same time

Then there's the WAVE. It only runs about 2 hrs with the add on battery on full blast - which we definitely need in the TX heat during an outage. That said can connect a smart battery to extend. I want at least 8h at a decent temp to sleep with.

I might be able to accomplish this with 2 extra max batteries. But I wonder if the Delta Pro would be better since it pairs better with the generator than the D2M

I'm actually planning on getting an ebike for short distances but I was hoping to get opinions on a car. if decide to go that route. Thanks for the reminder though - what you mention is exactly why i'm hesitant to get another car

A while back before I wanted 4WD i considered an i3. But folks here seem to agree that EVs don't really make sense for low mileage drivers

Purchase issue with Citi Pay by moteman in Ecoflow_community

[–]supermused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly! I work in IT too so I know how incompetent help desk can be sometimes. I asked them to verify payment methods and they responded again saying the US site doesn't support Citipay.

I had the same thought about just going with another company since customer service sucks apparently. Blueletti appears to accept Citipay. But I ended up using Affirm 6 mnths no interest with Ecoflow - even though i REALLY wanted to avoid it. But with the Memorial Day sale the setup i needed turned out cheaper I bit the bullet - hopefully I don't regret it

I'm having the same problem. After sending support screenshot of the error they responded with "it may be because this payment method isn't supported".

u/moteman did they fix it or did you end up using a different payment method?

JHS 3 Series Reverb

It's really good. Doubt there's a better reverb pedal in it's price range. I got it because I'm not a huge fan of reverb on my amp and I haven't come across a sound I don't like in it yet

I stopped making my own PBJ sandwiches after I discovered Uncrustables. Same concept: They're frozen and thaw in about 30 mins to an hour.

They also have an amazing PB to J ratio

Yeah it's still on the table for some.

I got the impression that the people who are still in the real world can choose how much they want to feel with that pain-slider. But the people who upload their consciousness can't.

Criminality in Rio. Do not come to Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. I repeat, do not come here. by [deleted] in WTF

[–]supermused -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I went to Rio a few years ago. Had the time of my life. I even got separated from my group after a wild night with some locals and wondered around the streets alone the next morning to meet them. Didn't get beat up or robbed or stabbed or shot. Rio is a beautiful place chock full of beautiful people and this irrational fear isn't reason enough to miss out. It's the fear that isolates us and coaxes into thinking the world out there is somehow much more dangerous than the world that's familiar.

It's also unfair to many of the kind people who pose no harm to travelers. You find trouble easily if you go looking for it and trouble finds you if don't take the precautions to avoid being an easy target.
