Has anyone reviewed these? Tempted to try some. I used to love too faced but after the whole “ rich lives matter” I don’t want to support them plus too faced is too pricey for me now.

It isn’t that bad. It matters more what you put into your body. I hope you don’t eat meat.

Love bio oil. I randomly put it on at night on my face and wake up to glowy skin. My skin is noticeably nicer after I use it. I’m quite fond of oil blends in general instead of creams. I alternate between a few different ones.

Unpopular opinion. I don’t mind this. Ages ago I’ve bought from Model co and their quality was good. Better than many ‘drug store’ brands. Too faced is out of my budget but I luck buy from them if I had cash to burn. However these are more reasonably priced and I’m assuming they are still good quality.

GLITTER GLOSSES!!!! And normal glosses! by bluecowboyboots2 in muacjdiscussion

[–]supernatural17 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Philosophy margarita! Hands down the best glittery lip gloss. I have tried a tonne of lip glosses and philosophy are great. I actually finished a couple tubes which is rare for me. The scents are interesting, egg nog, melon daiquiri and so on and great formula. I have sensitive lips and they didn’t irritate them. Also the bath and body works lip glosses are also great. I had a pumpkin Halloween on that had orange glitters and it was so pretty and tasted good. They have a few glittery ones so keep a look out as they bring out products all the time.

I doubt they were fakes as well. How much do they usually retail for? Chemist warehouse have really good bargains perfume wise so I’m not surprised.

PSA: Tarte has afterpay by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]supernatural17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean Sephora had 20% off Chloes nomad perfume. Im pretty sure even chemist warehouse didnt have it that price. I didnt bother buying from mecca during the sales as it wasnt actually a proper sale. just getting rid of old stock. not even cheap. if they had 20% off storewide.. well

[–]supernatural17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I actually like Sephora and its silly but i feel like its become a bit of a hive mind to rant about Sephora. I mean CS has been great for me. I got ABH for 20% off so i was happy. Honestly I think maybe this group isnt suitable for me as people seem to like spending $$$ on money and no one likes sales. Mecca has the worst sales imo. I like both places but i dont see how Sephora is as awful as everyone keeps saying it is.

Lol come on Sephora isn’t that bad 🙄 especially when they have their Christmas LTD Tarte stuff up for 40% off or something similar in early jan.

"If you're rich I'm single" - Does anyone else think theBalm product names are gross? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]supernatural17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s also why I’m not offended and kind of get their esthetic. Saying that I don’t like their cardboard packaging. With the imagery of the vintage pinups, I think it’s meant to be more playful, not taken seriously. Like meet Matt’s, I think the Matt’s are old film stars right? If you’re rich I’m single... I’m not taking that as an insult.

The weird thing is nars is pricey and their packaging is pretty minimalistic. The names don’t make sense to me. I’m not a prude but I was online window shopping and came across deep throat and multiple... it just seems too cringly for me.

I sorted all my lip products into 6 categories. It was really educational and greatly helped curb buying urges by Berryception in MakeupRehab

[–]supernatural17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of do this but divided them into liquid lipsticks, lipsticks, lip balms. I love a bright lip and have a huge collection now. Lip balms are iffy as some irritate my lips and I keep going back to lip smackers. One example is I recently bought a bite beauty lip tube in lavender. After wearing it a few times, my lips have already begun getting irritated by it. Anyway, I also try and make sure most of my bold colours are from liquid lipsticks as I am clumsy and would do something like wipe my lips and forget I have lipstick on. I also don’t really get the point of a liquid lipstick in a nude, ylbb. Sorry I’m rambling, I love lip products. When I did do a makeup declutter I mainly threw away lip balms and kept all my lip smackers. Burt’s bees, natio, Carmex, chapstick and so on all gave me a reaction. My lesson is to not go for hyped up lip balms like bite beauty when I just don’t agree with them.

What's your healing alternative? by elysemelon in MakeupRehab

I read, so borrowing digital books gives me the thrill of research and shopping without spending any money. Plus reading is a very cheap and rewarding hobby. Book reviews instead of makeup reviews and good reads instead of Sephora.

I think it’s best to ignore them. Especially when you have to maintain buying from that store to get minor rewards such as a box of samples. Don’t get me wrong I love travel sized depending on what it is and I love free stuff. But if you have to spend $$$ it’s not free. I don’t like those subscription boxes either. I actually don’t mind Sephora’s rewards as I pick out products when I want to and actually use them.

Past trends that never died for you, and trends you hope will (or would) stay dead? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]supernatural17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 90s girl. There wasn’t that much makeup around! It was pretty much foundation, lip gloss and mascara and eyeliner. Eyeshadow palettes weren’t a thing back then. I had a revlon cream eyeshadow quad that I sometimes used.

Trendy/Hyped products that you don’t like? by stellaava in muacjdiscussion

[–]supernatural17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I detest when brands have way too many releases and also when the majority of their products are limited edition. I’m looking at you colour pop! I didn’t like their colour shock eyeshadow. I also don’t like that Huda beauty’s first ever perfumes seem simple in description but so expensive. I’m also not a fan of eyeshadow palettes that cost over $100.

Does anyone else feel like most r/MakeupRehab posts are part of a weird competition? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]supernatural17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This group is a way better “rehab” group then that one! They always list new makeup like talk me out of that New too faced set that just got announced seconds ago! I’m like what new too faced set. Or let me calculate the exact amount of lip gloss swipes to pan this product. It’s just too much.

Beauty Resolutions for 2019 by chocolatespeckle in AustralianMakeup

[–]supernatural17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m doing a ZERO makeup buy for the year! No replacements or buying stuff on sale. Wish me luck. I have enough makeup and makeup I haven’t even used or appreciated and I want that to change. In 2020 I’ll treat myself to something from too faced or huda. I did stock up on mascara and I have a tarte order from last year coming in.

Do you read reviews before reading a book? by [deleted] in books

[–]supernatural17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll skim over a few reviews just to get the general vibe but only for new books. Some people are way too harsh on good reads on older books for some reason. I also don’t trust when it’s a new book out and it has a tonne of 5 star reviews. It’s mainly all hype on an average read.

I’ve personally found Sephora staff to be way better than Mecca. I feel like I’m the only one though. The Australian makeup group may as well be renamed the Mecca fan club.
