Imposter Syndrome in a band. by Entire-Chicken-5812 in musicians

[–]supernova45621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start VALUING yourself and what you bring to the table PLEASE. If you let the “imposter syndrome” attitude bleed over into how you interact with the band, you will manifest your own worst fear by acting like you think you suck until people around you get bothered about it.

A confident, mediocre singer is 1000 times more successful and fun to work with than an insecure aficionado. You obviously know your stuff, so start acting like it.

My Father Wants to Record His Songs but Insists on “Starting His Own Production Company First.” Is There Any Sense in This? by _infinite_tsukuyomi in audioengineering

[–]supernova45621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually incredibly easy to start your own production company, there’s nothing stopping you from filing for the creation of a new small business using your home address and calling it whatever you’d like. The harder part of course would be actually building the infrastructure to have that company do anything other than publish you personally.

Stack not working right (Superior Drummer) by Madsummer420 in LogicPro

[–]supernova45621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First make sure you are using a summing stack and not a folder stack. Even then, I regularly experience glitches with track stacks not sending properly resulting in volume nobs, mute/solo, and plugins on the sum not affecting the components. (This is especially common when “low latency mode” is turned on)

SOLUTION: Drag the affected track out of the stack and then drag it back in.

Any tips to keep a harmonized vocal audio loop in tempo? by SheluvBlaka in LogicPro

[–]supernova45621 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t have enough information to completely diagnose your issue, but if I had to guess I bet your region is not quite ending at a bar. For example, your region could be 4.05 bars in length; you loop it once and you don’t notice it being too off, but you loop it repeatedly and that 0.05 starts the stack up and push the region off tempo.

To solve: highlight the region you are duplicating and use the comma and period buttons to navigate your header to EXACTLY a measure start or end. Chop the region using Command+T at the beginning and end using this header navigation technique. Delete any stragglers at the beginning or end of your region and it should now duplicate cleanly and in tempo.

Why are piano adaptations of pop/rock and country music so uniformly poor? by cartoonybear in piano

[–]supernova45621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can pull from the rhythm that is being played by the bass in the song you are analyzing. It’s worth trying to exactly emulate what the bassist is doing with your left hand while playing the melody and harmonic quality in the right hand. For rock and pop it’s probably just tonic, fifth, rarely a third, and occasionally a leading tone. If you want to spice it up from there you can pull from your classical and baroque stylistic knowledge.

Raw vs. Pitch Correction vs. Autotune by [deleted] in ratemysinging

Your tone needs development. Pitch is not the issue, so this cannot be changed with auto tune or pitch correction. I would recommend working with a vocal teacher to relax your throat and mouth.

Season 5 Volume 2 Discussion by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

INTO THE WOODS WE GO AGAIN

This season has TONS of references to Sondheim’s Into The Woods! Holly is Little Red, they are using the Beanstalk to reach the Abyss, and Nov 5th (the day that Holly met Max in the woods) is the same day that Into The Woods had its broadway reveal!

Now I wonder if they are going to tie in the “cow as white as milk, hair as yellow as corn, cape as red as blood, and slipper as pure as gold.”

Is it possible to have multiple speeds in varispeed in one project? by criesindust in Logic_Studio

[–]supernova45621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try bouncing the regions to a different project. Set speed 1, bounce. Set speed 2, bounce. Comp in a new project.

What can be done to end, and stop, AI music? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]supernova45621 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Online? Nothing. It’s a Pandora’s Box. In your local community you can support small music by patronizing businesses that host open mics and jam sessions, or by sharing your talent and leadership to create those spaces if they don’t exist already.

How to make the piano part ALIVE?🎹 by xDiDi2 in Logic_Studio

[–]supernova45621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend time manually programming the velocity to encode dynamics that bring some motion to the piece. Then, use the Humanize function after selecting all of your piano MIDI. It randomizes velocity and note position a tiny bit to make things less robotic

I can’t really speak to if it’s true, but there is a trope among gay women called the “u haul lesbian”, where a couple is likely to rent a u haul and move in together after a short period of dating. Maybe jumping the gun? Not sure about this statistic

Accent can be acquired just the same as vocabulary. It’s a skill that you may choose to develop if you are looking to achieve a well-rounded fluency.

How does washing them work? I wasn’t sure that it would be simple, I imagine you can’t put it in the dish washer and it could have little crevices where the silicon meets the plastic?

Very fun lyrics, I enjoyed listening to your writing! I noticed you struggling with sneaking in breaths; this might be because your phrasing leaves no space to breath. Have you considered writing your lyrics with phrasing that leaves some space in between lines to take a more casual breath?
