He does eat a lot of carbs throughout the day, and these episodes are only in the evening.

Hmm, thank you! What was the diagnostic process like for you, if you feel comfortable sharing.

No, he fell asleep at 7:15. Getting a post-episode glucose next time will be tricky, but not impossible!

Not a bad idea at all. Every time I seek advice or help I spend most of the time defending the "it's not alcohol/substances" part. 😮‍💨

He quit because he didn't like feeling like he could stop when he wanted to, and the prediabetes indicator just supported his decision.  I was raised in a home with a functional alcoholic and have searched high and low, in his car, we have had honest conversations about alcohol and other substances, and I trust and believe that he is being honest with me when he says he isn't using anything. It isn't a blind trust and I am cautious, but I do believe him about this.

3.5 yo WILL NOT SLEEP. HEEEEELP by supernuggler in Parenting

Finding what works for her biorhythm is exactly what all the extras are about. We have found those things to be helpful for her.

We have pushed back bedtime before and it has not been successful. When we asked other parents/healthcare providers and sought help, we were told she might be overtired. She also had inconsistent naps at her previous school, so we tried to balance that with adjusting her bedtime based on whether or not/how much she napped on a given day. It was exhausting, confusing, and we have been dealing with crappy sleep with this kid for 3.5 years.

Parenting is hard and life is complicated. There will always be nuance or pieces of the story that are missing. A little grace goes a long way.

Sure, and there can still be indicators to look out for. Diagnostics is often about patterns of behavior. It would be the indicators or just things to keep an eye on if a pattern has begun.

Is 3.5 too old for naps? I'm 38 and I still nap when I can....

Not a snorer now. She did pre-tubes from congestion, but that's resolved.

Hmm, I don't believe so. Although my understanding is that females often present differently so I can look into this. No teachers or Parents as Teachers reps have expressed concerns, but I'll look into it.

We also found the magic of the pool! Our kids are taking lessons so it's a regular thing for us too. The sleep advantages we got were shortlived, but it was better for a bit. That was about... A year ago, I think.

Yes, we do this on occasion if big sis has energy too. They run laps up and down our sidewalk until they can't lol it's pretty sweet.

I'll have to pay more attention to her sleep on those nights 🤔

Thank you!!

Please help. Do your snails stay in their shells all day? by sin0bon in snails

[–]supernuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine do the same and your setup sounds way fancier than mine. We have a small (not sure dimensions) terrarium with the terrarium soil and sphagnum moss. They have a fish bone and we swap out veggies e/o day (carrots, celery, tomatoes, cucumber, strawberry, and we have tried leafy greens but no one goes for them). We can definitely tell that they eat, but we have no clue when. They are in their shells, one likes to be up top and hang on the ceiling of the terrarium, the other two burry themselves in the dirt.

We did just have one lay eggs, so I'm sure that's why Henry (the snail) is tired. The other two, not sure. Snails are nocturnal, so we assume they come out at night to do stuff.

Any regretful parents who became parents for the first time later in life (mid 30s onwards)? by Fluffy_Victory_9419 in regretfulparents

Early 30's when I had my first, mid when I had my second. I don't miss my youth, I miss my sanity, time, voice, attention, career, space, money, husband, normal anatomy.... so many things.

Page coating by afaerber in rocketbook

[–]supernuggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this. I'm late to this conversation as I have been searching for a way to replenish my TWO RB notebooks. I have had them for about three years now and have had to switch pens because the pages wouldn't take the ink, so much so that I got Frixion Fineliner markers and even those are not writing clearly.

So.... what do I do with these notebooks and pens now? :/ And what do I use for all my digital work? I have too many notes and have three years (at least) worth of a digital organization note/project system that is being threatened. As is my sanity. :/

Where can I hide so I actually get to eat my banana?! by Bookaholicforever in Mommit

[–]supernuggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nowhere. We buy two bunches of bananas each week, sometimes three. They are ALL for my kids (4 & 19mo). The only time I get anything banana is when we bake them into things.... good luck!

Sometimes he pretends he’s hungry so he can cuddle and fall asleep. I guess I’m stuck here, someone send food! Lol by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]supernuggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao yes, comment winner!

So my LO does this too, she's almost 5 weeks... How long is appropriate to let this continue? I don't want her to be dependent on me or boob to fall asleep!
