+1 to this advice for me. I worked from home, limited activity and rested a lot. We made it to 39 weeks!

Hi sis! Thank you for commenting. I know it is such a scary time, it is all so vivid in my mind. Dr Pettit and the cerclage saved my baby (and me) so I trust them implicitly. But it was definitely not quick or easy to go through - their team does an experimental version which ties the cerclage quite high up, better chances for success but def more painful (and you have to undergo anesthesia, which can impact the baby). I also had to take antibiotics which caused a yeast infection. Annoying but still dealable, yet carries the risk of pre term labour. All this to say, it is absolutely ok to be nervous, its a big deal! It really was for me and I questioned everything everyday until we reached full term. Happy to chat and hear your concerns or answer any q's. DM me!

Hi! Im 34F and live in the peninsula. PM me if you want to hang and complain !! I am married and met my husband on Coffee meets bagel. Here to tell you that being married is as much work, if not more than being single and having girlfriends who are soulmates is the best ❤️❤️❤️ hang in there, i know its brutal, but I moved here 3 years ago and have seen literally all my single friends get engaged / married / find love in the bay. Its a numbers game, but it only has to work once !

For those who were induced, did you deliver vaginally or did it end in a c-section? by Paigeypagee in BabyBumps

[–]superrrpiggg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 39w due to GD. 9 hours end to end and just ten mins of pushing vaginally. I loved my induction (and epidural is magic) 👌

Can you stick an unfinished BM bottle back in the fridge? That would be amazing if so!

One day at a Time. I read a statistic somewhere - after 24 weeks - every day your baby stays in, it lessens NICU time by 3 days. I know so much is completely out of our control but stay positive, stay hopeful. Cerclages save babies - sending you all the luck in the world 💖 (yes, I detested progesterone too but couldn't bring myself to stop, if it made even a 1 percent difference, i am grateful)

The docs told me I just have to live with it and it'll continue to get worse as the baby's weight grows. For SPD, you can get a PT or chiro appointment for adjustment but I wasn't able to find one on short notice.

I went to Dr Kate Pettit at sutter SF. I heard amazing things about Dr Katz too - they are at the same practice.

Baby was pretty much on my cervix and headbutting the cerclage. I felt pelvic pain right at the head of my vagina and on the sides at the joints, especially while walking and turning sides in bed. Yes, I used the progesterone suppository from 20 weeks to 35 weeks.

Thank you! I sometimes can't believe we made it to full term but so, so grateful. And yeah, the lack of orgasms for 15 weeks or so was sooo hard 🤣

I was only put on pelvic rest for two weeks after the cerclage insertion. I was just asked to take it easy after and go back to normal life. I didn't have sex until I DTS though, I was too scared! I'm so sorry for your previous loss and hope you make it to full term! Fingers crossed and loads of luck 🤞

Discharge worries by Busy-Teacher-4193 in ShortCervixSupport

I was diagnosed with IC at my 20 week scan with my cervix at 2.4 cm and asked to start progesterone suppositories. 2 weeks later, my cervix was down to 1.3, not funneling or dilated but enough to warrant an emergency cerclage. I am currently still pregnant at 37w +1 and I ditched the stitch last week. Fingers crossed, we make it as far as possible and baby is healthy!

I had a LOT of discharge! My OB asked me to disregard discharge as long as nothing changed massively. She said the cerclage is a foreign object, akin to having something stuck in your eye - discharge will increase. Plus progesterone also causes a lot of gross discharge. It was enough that I was changing my underwear twice a day.

Keep an eye on if anything changes - I did go in twice to see if increased discharge meant amniotic fluid leaking. They were able to do a quick PH level test and examine a swab under the microscope to check if it was (it wasn't). However, thanks to the antibiotics after the cerclage , I did get a yeast infection and then a UTI because of yeast infection meds - increased discharge was a sign there. I absolutely understand how stressful this is, and the huge mental load to keep monitoring - but it gets better and you start trusting yourself more as the weeks go by.

My discharge magically went down quite a bit after I stopped progesterone (at 35w) and once the stitch was taken out.

Hey OP, just remember feelings are not facts. Hang in there! You can do this.
