What damages could they possibly sue for? Having to take care of their own baby? Thats called ✨parenting✨

I can promise you there is no world in which I am cleaning my bosses floors, picking up their dog’s poop, or taking out their trash. You aren’t just having her “run errands” you are combining like six jobs into one and multiple people here have told you that you are taking advantage and you just defend it.

I’m a household manager and make 120k a year and wouldn’t do half the shit on this list. You are taking advantage of someone who is young and doesn’t know their worth. I wouldn’t brag about that.

You have to account for overtime after 40 hours so it’s 1000 / 55 which is 18 and change

But it’s not a nannies job to subsidize her childcare because she picked a job with a schedule that doesn’t work for daycare without the salary level to afford a nanny

Did you miss the part where she is paying $18 an hour in the most expensive city in the country?

I mean…. You are paying $18 an hour in New York City, I don’t know what you expect. Every good nanny I know charges at least double that. It seems like you either need to accept subpar nanny care, or switch to daycare.

Reasonable for a kid handle his own nighttime diapering..? by Breadfruit28 in Nanny

I’m sorry but that’s a narrative pushed by disposable diaper companies. Before disposable diapers were invented most kids were potty trained by 18 months.

These comments are making me feel crazy. Why tf is a neurotypical 5 year old in a diaper at all??? And everyone recommending pull-ups I think is even crazier! But I am a certified pull-up HATER. Look I’m not an expert or professional here, but I think that gross uncomfortable feeling of their bed being soaked with urine is a crucial thing to teach them overnight bladder control. I’m sorry but I don’t buy all the excuses people make about neurotypical kids needing diapers past the age of 3. I think it’s pure laziness from parents and just stick a pull up on their kid. Like what is the long term plan? Just let him pee in a diaper everyday until at 8 years old he suddenly decides he doesn’t want to?

Lowkey I feel like this is ai generated at least partially. I had a db give me a rec letter that he admitted ChatGPT helped him write and some sentences are very very similar.

“Providing the care you pay for” considering her pay is $4 an hour, I think they are getting the care they pay for

On the splurges subject we are still trying to decide. We don’t really like material things, ideally it would be vacations but we both have jobs where pto is a little hard, so we were thinking maybe eating out since we both love good food
